The religious imagination & relic peddling
The value I think I will take from this thread is that it illustrates the nature and ease of religious belief. If Ron Wyatt could promote his relics so successfully in this time of comparatively massive archeologically studies and education in rational science, think how easy it was to find pieces of the true cross, the bones of Saints, etc during the middle ages!
Religions develop and spread by the willingness of people to believe regardless of evidence, based on appeals to imagination. Wyatt certainly knew how to appeal to imagination. He was a salesman not a scientist. I've known the type in real life. It's clear his videos are dearly loved and enjoyed by the faithful.
and so it goes,
lfen

Well, considering that Ron Wyatt has been accused of fraud in his discovries, and you are linking to one of the web sites promoting
his 'discoveries'.. I have to ask for not only a valid name, but
something that is in a peer reviewed article.
...And considering as well that the United States Government has been accused of a fraudulent moon landing, I guess there's no hope for Wyatt being right, huh?

That is in response to your vacuous claim that no lab tests have been done on Wyatt's discoveries, although now I'm sure you'll mutate your challenge to exclusively the Exodus in order to save yourself the chagrining reality.

what a rogue you are - what a cheap trick, replying to Brian's point in the proposed topics forum where he can't reply.
Some of you so-called christians really have no shame and little in the way of moral.

I'm waiting for the Admin to validate it. Other discoveries made by wyatt have been discussed throughout both past threads. I am addressing those as well.

Since all proposed topics must be validated first, your accusation qualifies for itself.

Nice try - if you want to talk about the arc, get a topic approved and we will discuss it.

Re: Frustrating
In other words you'll use the shoddy reportign of Wyatt and co to smear Muslims.
You really are evil. And I mean that.
Er, I think I just read some of your late complaints about personal attacks. Tell it to Solomon Rushdie and consider the poor unfortunates in Pakistan who loose their life or are imprisoned without trial for years for being critical the prophet.

People were ALREADY talking about the ark. I'm replying accordingly. So shove it.
If you're so concerned about getting off topic, chastize your own comrades in here for making it so (they've made attacks on Ron Wyatt as a character).

More smoke and mirrors, the old shell game again.

That is one stupid statement Buz.
One more time.
Moses and the Exodus are as much a part of Islamic Tradition as it is of Christian or Jewish. Moses is one of the Islamic Prophets.
Why, when challenged and soundly refuted do you folk think changing the subject will help support your case?

Re: Frustrating
I have complained about personal attacks being used in lieu of argument. But since your sole argument is a groundless smear any answer is necessarily going to be critical of you.
And if you think that Salman Rushdie was condemned merely for associating with Christians then you need to do a lot more research.

I don't care WHAT YOU THINK IS MORE LOGICAL for the Saudi's to do, the facts haven't changed. Do you think Wyatt staged his capture and imprisonment?
You are so full of it.

Re: Frustrating
well what's left for them? Their exodus video had been exposed as a sham, they have invisible experts they can't name.
They are reduced to rants here and in the proposed topics forum - it's quite sad really.
That quote again in full:
Perhaps the archaeologist would not reveal his name for identity purposes? However, he did reveal he was one from Riyadh University, and I feel that is good enough. There is nothing wrong with claiming an archaeologist said something--even if he does not reveal his name.

You do know that the nonsense about the Ark has already been discussed and except for the laughter, forgotten.
Particularly the anchor stones. I have to admit, that is without a doubt the funniest thing since this.
