Re: To Salty
To me it seems that the evolutionists are operating under as strong a delusion as Salty. Despite evidence to the contrary, Salty believes his ideas have legitimacy, and the evolutionists believe that Salty can be engaged in rational discussion.
Bad debate forces good debate to other venues. I'm not convinced that bad debate is better than no debate at all, and my inclination is to suspend the biggest contributors to the problem, be they Creationist or evolutionist.
It has been periodically pointed out that rebutting Creationist positions is often a valuable learning experience. I not only agree, I've experienced the same thing myself. But once this beneficial aspect is obtained and a repetitive period takes over there seems little point in continuing.

I believe Peter Borger was also "sentenced" to the "Free For All" forum, but wouldn't cooperate, and thus got suspended.
This is probably worth clarifying. Peter Borger was suspended for refusing to follow moderator requests, most importantly among them to limit discussion of GUToB to the thread designated for that purpose. He instead continued to introduce GUToB into other threads, thereby diverting them the original topic and turning these threads into additional GUToB discussions. I have likened this in the past to being the same as if I marched into discussions about Jesus and repeated my belief that Jesus did not live in the 1st century, if at all. It would immediately divert discussion onto my favorite topic.
Peter Borger is free to return at any time he agrees to abide by the forum guidelines. Jet was just readmitted today.
Syamsu was requested to move to the Free For All Forum for reasons very similar to Peter Borger. He has a perspective that he will introduce into any thread in which he participates.
Buzsaw's restriction to Free For All is for somewhat different reasons. Well-mannered, intelligent and sincere, Buzsaw doesn't really belong here. If Buzsaw will meet me halfway by agreeing to make a greater effort to follow those administrative requests that he strongly feels are wrong and/or discriminatory, then I think it would be fine to lift the restriction. Buzz?

Nos482 hasn't been seen in these parts for many a day. His email is public in his profile - you should send him a note and tell him that though he is gone he is not forgotten.

Activity Meter Information
Adminnemooseus writes:
ps by edit: By the way, how does the "Activity Meter" work? I seems to me, that it would be nice if it indicated the number of new messages in the most recent 24 hours (or perhaps 48 hours). It seems that it will loose it's value, if it just tallies the total messages since the meter was installed.
For Moose:
Should have given you this information earlier. The changes appear under Display Hot Topic Indicators? of the General Settings page of the control panel.
For everyone:
Until recently, the only way to indicate activity level was what is called the Hot Icon approach. On forum pages, threads with more than a certain number of messages are displayed with a hot icon, which is a folder with flames. The number of messages was set to 15. Unfortunately, this approach isn't a very good indicator of a hot topic. The 15 or more messages could have occurred years ago.
The newly implemented activity meter meter indicates message activity over time. At present the maximum on the meter is set to 50 messages in the previous 48 hours. Anything over this will peg the meter. Right now only the List All Topics page is using the activity meter. The forum pages still use the Hot Icon approach, but this will change very soon.
