The "The Nature of Mutations II" topic is already going astray, with side comments concerning Peter Borger. And I wanted to add something to this diversion, but it would be wrong to further contribute to the topics decay - so I started this "Free For All" topic.
From a schrafinator comment, at the above mention topic.
quote: A phrase I once heard used in a "Bloom County" comic - "Women, and their nutty hormones". Moose

Salty, from the same topic as cited in message 1, said:
quote: I focus in on the "atheistic purposeless Darwinism" phrase. Salty, I presume your alternative is the "theistic purposeful anti-Darwinism"? Or perhaps it would be better phrased as the "anti-Darwinian purposeful theism"? Either way, it seems that your religious and/or philosophical beliefs are driving your scientific inclinations. Moose

From message 57:
quote: Salty trying to get banned??? Also represented in the topic string in question, is the very poor control of keeping things on topic. Also, Terry and Buz both seem to be under the sway of "Morton's Demon", but with Terry, the demon's control seems to be pretty much absolute. Not so for the Buzter. Moose

From http://EvC Forum: Human Races -->EvC Forum: Human Races, where the Frog said:
quote: But only at standard pressure. At higher pressures the freezing point goes down. He also said (in reply to "Different degrees of temperature blend into one another"):
quote: I won't pick on this one too hard, but temperature gradients are real. Lastly, from http://EvC Forum: Human Races -->EvC Forum: Human Races, the Frog said:
quote: Heat content is not (at least directly) measured in temperature units. In metric, energy is measured in Joules, while temperature is measured in Kelvins (or degrees Celsius). The same amount of heat (energy) will NOT equally change the temperature of equal masses of two different substances. I'll now stand by, for someone to nit-pick me. Moose ps: Not that this has any apparent relationship to the topic there.

Message 1 of a topic at Terry's Talk Origins:
quote: Mind boggling. Moose Added by edit: By the way, I got the boot there for saying "Ban me if you wish, but I think that GWB was voted in by the coalition of the ignorant, the stupid, and the greedy." So we got the "clueless, amoral sexual degenerates, communists and pacifists" versus "the ignorant, the stupid, and the greedy". This message has been edited by minnemooseus, 12-26-2004 22:22 AM

I saved a copy of the thing, in case it otherwise disappears.
Opening line in Salty's message 5 (addressed to Terry):
quote: You couldn't even do parody of this stuff - It's already to wierd. I was offering Salty the respect of using his preferred name, John A. Davison, but I've decided he's not worthy of such. Moose ps: I note topics seem to be disappearing elsewhere. Hope nothing fatal is happening.

I had a photograph of my cat "Hiss" as my avatar.
I changed it to a black box November 3rd, and also changed my location to "South Canada". Flaming liberal Moose

Oops, it's the Vikings that are going to lose today. It seems that the Packers lost last week.

Re: The Moss moon
Per the newpaper - It seems that it's a Green Bay fan tradition to moon the opposing teams departing bus, after a Packer victory. Randy just returned the gesture. Seems better than some goofy end zone dance. Colts coach (and former Vikings assistant coach) Tony Dungie (sp?) said he thought Moss's gesture was funny. A Packer fan co-worker (years ago in Nevada) told me "Randy Moss is a punk". My reply was "You just wish he was your teams punk", to which he had to agree. We'll have to see if he's a gimpy punk today. Moose

For lack of a better place to discus this, here it is.
Philip, from here:
One Chemist (Behe, I think) seemed to vehemently convert to YECism while developing the concept of ICs. My impression is that Behe is very close to being a mainstream evolutionist, old Earth and all. Moose Edit: Changed ID This message has been edited by minnemooseus, 06-27-2005 12:43 PM

From here:
Modulous writes: Interestingly, Christian Voice comes up tops for a google search on 'ignorant bigots' Also on that google.co.uk search (currently 3rd) is http://www.perfect.co.uk/2005/01/ignorant-bigots That cite/site in turn leads to Googlejuice Request :: ivorysky, which contains:
If you have a website, please join me in starting a new Googlebomb. The target is the website of Christian Voice, the organisation who have the audacity to complain about Jerry Springer The Opera, whilst preaching their anti-gay, anti-abortion, racist message, and the link text is ignorant bigots. Once again, ignorant bigots. Not as good as the old "weapons of mass destruction" google search, but still... Moose

Re: here
In the not to distant past, someone ran a team of poodles in the John Beargrease sled dog race, here in northern Minnesota. Further research finds that it also has been done elsewhere.
