Re: On Colorado
GA writes:
Ahhh so an executive committee made a decision without the consultation of the Republican party members. That would explain the Youtube videos of Republicans in Colorado burning their membership papers.
Well, that just shows the utter ignorance of those Republicans. First, to film something and post it on YouTube is one sign of ignorance but for a party member to not know the policies they set up is perhaps even greater ignorance.
But burning membership papers is really stupid since that does not do anything. Even if they burn membership papers they are still registered as Republicans.

Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

Re: On Colorado
Not all gestures are equally silly but most are based on ignorance.
Not all, but most.
AbE:
Look at your examples and think; compare them to burning a Republican Party Membership card.
Come one.
Burning a draft card had real significance. First, it was illegal and at the time could actually bring the power and might of the Federal Government down on you.
Usually burning a flag was just silly. But it did carry a slight risk from the crazies living among us.
But burning a Republican Membership card and posting the video on YouTube? Sorry but that is simply ignorance.
Now had the person videoed going and changing his or her registration from Republican to Democrat it might have had a slight worth, but still not enough to rise far above the silly level.

What is alternative media? Can you provide some examples?

Re: The Donald and The Third Party
When you suggest people should check alternative media it might help if you gave them some idea of what media you consider alternative. Google, in case you did not know, is a search engine and not a media source.
So once again, what is an example of alternative media?
Even in the Coffee House you might want folk to at least consider your source.

Should members of an association know the rules and procedures of their association?
To try to move away from your tap dancing inanities and towards the topic, you seem to be claiming that when a political party follows its own rules and procedures that is somehow undemocratic and denies people some right.
When an organization creates procedures do you think that somehow that organization, that voluntary association, is somehow wrong for following its own rules and procedures?

Re: Should members of an association know the rules and procedures of their association?
Yet more tap dancing and just plain dishonesty Al.
We are not talking about the mafia but rather the US Republican party within its own state primary procedures.
Is this just another and continuing example of you avoiding providing answers when questioned?

Re: The Donald and The Third Party
NoNukes writes:
So asking about your sources is a valid request, particular regarding matters of opinion and evaluation, such as 'are the republican rules fair or fascist?'
That seems another false analogy; there is no reason fascist rules might not also be fair.
When it comes to the primary process though the question of fair or unfair really is irrelevant. The various state Republican organizations certainly have the right to determine how they will apportion representation at the National convention.

Re: You can't buy elections
CS writes:
Is that really what people mean by "buying an election"? Paying people to vote for you?
As is so often the case it is not one simple answer. It can be by getting someone to rig an election, actually paying people to vote a certain way, paying for advertising to propagandize, paying a programmer to hack voting machines, paying someone to actually steal votes, pressuring employees to vote a certain way ...

Gotta object to that. Not all conservatives are religio-fascist bigots. Not all conservatives are even religious or fascist. Some may even not be bigots.
But the current crop running for office as Republicans are at least all fascists.

Re: Cruz Names Running Mate
Better as the Vice-President than running a company. A Vice-President can not cause too much damage short of shooting you thinking you are a dove.

Just what is accomplished by picking Fiorina as a running mate? Just what constituency does that tap into?
It will appeal to the constituency that is looking for a candidate that has exhibited the ability to run a functioning organization into the ground while protecting their own ass(ets) other than il Donald.

Remember the future really still is the future.
We need to remember that the election is still in the future. Dewey Wins! I have more than once lost a bet on a sure thing.
