Bernie Sanders held on to squeak out a victory in West Virginia with 51% of the Democratic vote. Hillary still leads the race with 1716 pledged delegates to Bernie's 1430, but "Dad" (as he is being called by the young idealists) continues to battle. Not for the nomination (that is pretty much out of his reach at this point), but to move the Democratic Party more toward the political left.
Meanwhile, in what has become the boring side of the primary struggles, The Donald, now unopposed, swept both W. Virginia and Nebraska with large margins over his now collapsed opposition. Ol' Hairpiece took 61% in Nebraska and an eye-popping 77% in W. Virginia.
The Democrats did their thing in Nebraska way back in early March where Bernie had a hefty win of 57% over Hillary's 43%.
So now, both races are effectively over with both Hillary and Donald all but assured of nomination at the parties' conventions. Bernie will continue to push the Democratic Party agenda to the left while the Republicans try to figure out whether they even have one anymore. Well, The Wall
TM, of course, but maybe there should be more to the Republicans than a bombastic disjointed tirade against ... everything.
