Re: The Soros Connection
Have you ever considering thinking?
Personal finance advice: Investing your anti-Trump protest pay
quote:
Finally someone has finally called attention to this important alternative issue. Paying millions of protesters was bound to be a challenge. Even so, this whole protester pay thing has got to be the most poorly-planned shambolic logistical mess of the Trump era.
As you might imagine, my own inbox is flooded with calls and emails from liberals wondering how to most prudently invest their Women’s March pay, whether they should wait for the 1099 before filing their taxes, whether parking and cardboard signs are tax-deductible, and so on. Apologies to the many RBC readers waiting for my responses.
...
So much of the operational chaos might have been avoided had the Soros people simply allowed direct deposit. Live and learn.

Re: The Soros Connection
"Never happened" and "made up" means lied.
No, it means she told a falsehood. Perhaps unknowingly. She may be deluded enough to believe it happened. I've seen quite a bit of that; the ability of the human mind to fool itself is powerful.

She's attempting an analogy with the robbers as the threat (not as of now the actuality, so way overblown) of terrorists, built on the assumption that our President is too limited to care about two things. It's a manifestation of false dichotomy.

You still did a false dichotomy. Maybe a competent government can address the riots and the shooting of the Indians. And a whole bunch of other issues.

Re: strategy?
I can only suppose that you and JohF, at least, are playing some kind of game intended to destroy all logic. You are making no sense, either one of you. It's a very effective trick, makes it hard to answer you since you aren't saying anything that could be answered since it makes no sense
Sure makes sense to me.
Pick one:
  • Address only the issue of the riots.
  • Address only the issue of the Indian's shooting.
  • Address botht he issue of the Indian's shooting AND the riots.
I pick the third. You seem to pick the first.

And his thinking they were Arabs makes it all OK?

Re: strategy?
His thinking they were Arabs makes them Arabs as far as the main point goes
What's the main point?
I think he unjustifiedly shot two people and Trump doesn't care because he's not a Muslim.

Re: the big picture (BLM)
None of those are "straight out of the Marxist playbook".
E.g. "Pigs" for cops:
Online Etymology Dictionary and many other sources:
quote:
Probably from Old English *picg", found in compounds, further etymology unknown. Originally "young pig" (the word for adults was swine). Apparently related to Low German bigge, Dutch big ("but the phonology is difficult" -- OED). The meaning "oblong piece of metal" is first attested 1580s, on the notion of "large mass." Applied to persons, usually in contempt, since 1540s; the derogatory slang meaning "police officer" has been in underworld slang since at least 1811.
quote:
The pigs frisked my panney, and nailed my screws; the officers searched my house, and seized my picklock keys. ["Dictionary of Buckish Slang, University Wit and Pickpocket Eloquence," London, 1811]

You are assuming BS.
As usual.

Re: the big picture (BLM)
I was in Berkeley in the sixties. I know Marxist symbols and rhetoric when I see them
Does not follow.
For example, your idea that "pigs" for police is Marxist. You should now know it isn't.
Some of the Berkeley protesters were Marxists. Many were not.

Re: the big picture (BLM)
Yup, that's the theory. No evidence for it, of course.
