What makes your whole attitude PC is your certainty that you have the right and the knowledge to tell other people how to feel and think.

  1. Telling somebody they've missed an oppurtunity for a feeling or thought is not telling them what to do.
  2. I don't see what that has to do with "PC" anyway.
  3. This is not the PC topic.
  4. What makes you think I mind being called "PC"?

Listen up simpletons
On a board with supposed intellectuals I find it lacking. I wish to talk a spell. Some of the older folk may not enjoy what I will say because your minds have begun to degrade into a linear pattern.
Noone here raises any real questions or answers. A few simpletons trying to substantiate their foolish beliefs.
Vietnam veterans hmm.. well to illustrate an initial point Bob Dylan's young genius will work well:
quote:
"There must be some way out of here," said the joker to the thief,
"There's too much confusion, I can't get no relief.
Businessmen, they drink my wine, plowmen dig my earth,
None of them along the line know what any of it is worth."
Obviously there will be alot of you (probably the vast majority) that can't comprehend the words.
Wine is the blood of the one that is sacrificed in society justified through whatever cause. But the preservation of human life is only second to transcendance so these superficial causes like currency (wealth of a "country") or "freedom" (not a cause that is usually fought for)are inherently meaningless. Neglecting the truth preserving statement "nothing is of meaning" freedom is meaningless because in a government (especially through capitalism) , in a country there is no freedom if you submit to its standards, its laws. Moral laws must be decided by you, not the government. Laws must be obeyed to protect human life not because of a force telling you to. I am a libertarian: freedom is man. The "digging of the earth" is the burial of the person and "none of them, none of you know what anything is worth. I have coined you people "systemites" and there you will stay I suppose, unless you exercise good will.
Why have I come back? I have decided you all are worth my time because I value human life (lucky you).
Someone should start a thread on identity because I guess human drama and individualism is inescapable.
Back to my truth preserving point:
Understand,
As long as each of us continue to submit ourselves to the society and its wars and its murder we are not free, and words cannot console the tragic casualties of war.
Do not any of you understand? As we sit in the lap of luxury we are born into only more will die.
What gives you the right to be rich, to be American?
What gives them the right to Die, to be an Iraqi?
It is neither moral to talk to a vet or to not talk to a vet it is moral to first transcend existence to be above this existence
then it is do whatever one can to preserve human life.
These objectives go hand in hand. One can not be complete without the other. One must transcend and one must do good for others.
And doing good for others matters it is not meaningless, for we are not me, you, American, Iraqi, Muslim, Christian WE ARE BUT ONE.
We are all connected, your plight is my plight, Christ said you hurt hi when you hurt another. This is true. Do good to everyone for when you harm another you harm yourself. We are all here, we all exist, we each share the same experience, WE ARE ONE.

Telling somebody they've missed an oppurtunity for a feeling or thought is not telling them what to do.
No, it's merely strongly implying what they SHOULD have done, which you seem to feel you have a right to suggest as if you have the right to dictate how people should respond, as if your reactions are the standard.
I mean, you feel you KNOW the exactly right way to behave, and you're so PROUD of your skill, and obviously EVERYBODY should emulate Mr. Correct.

Exactly. I do have a right to suggest.

I prefer to think of it as giving everybody the oppurtunity to emulate Mr. Correct.
Do you think people would be confused if I changed my alias to "Mr. Correct"?

WE ARE ONE.
I don't think so. I prefer individuality.

Re: Listen up simpletons
That is what makes you a nihilist, as you know.
Does that mean you would do for yourself in your own intentions?
And if this is true then is this no less than what the chimpanzee or the lion does?

No, what makes me a nihilist is REASON, not sentiment.

I'm not sure what you are getting at. I doubt that chimpanzees and lions are nihilists.
There are two positions that one can take: the religious position or the nihilist position.

Do you do for your own intentions?
Do not the chimpanzee and the lion do for their own intentions?

Re: Listen up simpletons
When you act, do you usually act for the benefit of yourself or do you account other humans around you into your actions.
Do you help others if you can?
To sum up:
Are you altruistic?
