but in the King James Version...
44: Both thy bondmen, and thy bondmaids, which thou shalt have, shall be of the heathen that are round about you; of them shall ye buy bondmen and bondmaids.
There can be vastly different means given to the terms
Bondsman and
Slave.
This is particularly important because at the time the King James Version was written, slavery was quite common and certainly well known.
