Re: Left & right
In contrast, the right believes more in the individual, that she must be as unfettered as possible in her pursuit of life's goals, and that interference in that leads to the infringement of rights and freedoms,...
So fromthat I take it that it is the Left that is opposing Roe v Wade and Gay Rights?

Re: Left & right
Now that's an oxymoron. Full rights but not marriage.

Re: communism and socialism
Sorry but in a communist society the government is the people.

Re: Left & right
No, it can't. Roe v Wade is about the right to individual privacy. That's all.

Opposition to the Iraq War is not a cause of the left. It certainly should be a Christian cause though. What better description of a Patriot could there be than someone who loves his country enough to speak out when it does wrong?

Typical Leftest definition?
But I'm not left. I'm a registered Republican who has worked in Republican politics since Eisenhower's administration.
It is a Republican speaking about National Issues and a Christian speaking about what should be Christian issues.

Wrong yet again.
I am not on the left. I'm a conservative Republican and have been involved in the republican party since the Eisenhower Administration.
The War in Iraq was wrong because it was an unjust use of power.

Re: Typical Leftest definition?
In your opinion. But just as with your interpretation of what makes a Christian, left is but an assertion.
That's fine.
Left/Right, Liberal/Conservative are opinions, not fact.

Re: Left & right
I may not sound to you like a conservative, but that means very little.
Ask Schraf and you'll find she sees me as somewhat to the right of Fascism on many issues such as Gun Control. She found it amazing that when she asked if an idividual should have a right to own a grenade launcher that not only do I favor that right, I own one.
I may not sound like a Republican but in fact, most of the Republicans today don't sound much like republicans either. They sound far more like World Order Fascists.
I favor individual liberty and oppose legislation that removes and restricts individual liberty such as the Defence of Marriage Act, opposition to Roe v Wade and our current Anti-Terrorism Laws; and oppose total waste and stupidity such as the invasion of Iraq that simply wastes money and does nothing to secure the US.

Re: Just for the record:
You're not the only one. Historically, those on the Left and Democrats in particular opposed gun control. No less than "Mr Liberal", Hubert H.Humphrey said
Certainly one of the chief guarantees of freedom under any government, no matter how popular and respected, is the right of citizens to keep and bear arms.... The right of citizens to bear arms is just one guarantee against arbitrary government, one more safeguard against the tyranny which now appears remote in America but which historically has proven to be always possible.
The key point is that just as in dealing with Evolution, morality or other subjects, many people tend to consider reality not what it is, but what they believe it should be.

No. I would describe myself as a Christian, Conservative Republican. And I have. Repeatedly. That's what I am.

Re: Left & right
I can't. Even the dummy rounds cost about $55.00 each now. It's totally useless but the rifle would no longer be legal as a Curio & Relic if removed. But the bayonet is great as a monopod.

You really don't understand how it works.
You believe that the decision is infallible and without legal dissent
It's the Law of the Land. It is the Decision.
If someday, God Forbid, it gets overturned, then that will be the Decision, the Law of the Land. And those of us who are Christian Conservatives will then work to get that Decision overturned. But until overturned, it is the Decision.
