Don't sign up for another email address. The fix should come from the EvC Forum end. We'll get it fixed soon, give us a day or so.

Can you tell me how to check these reverse DNS things?

On our Linux server, nslookup starts up with a message that says it is deprecated and suggests using dig or hosts instead. On my XP machine, dig doesn't exist and nslookup may be the only game in town. Anyway, I prefer dig now because I've had better luck figuring out the right commands to give it.
I'm behind a firewall, can someone check if the reverse DNS entry for is now set correctly?

Is it possible that the reverse names take longer to get updated? I have another website with a fixed IP that I setup a couple weeks ago, and the reverse map for it gives the actual domain name of the site.

In case anyone else might find these useful, I found line-oriented dig, host and whois for Windows at http://pigtail.net/LRP/dig/.

nwr writes: The same thing happens for a bunch of other links on that SiteMap page. Asgara is working on the non-discussion board webpages. Getting the site map up to date isn't the first priority, but it's on the list. Stay tuned...

The recent performance issues some have encountered gives me a great idea for enforcing the forum guidelines. Violators will have a delay introduced before pages are served. Misdemeanors: 1 second; Grand Theft: 5 seconds; Murder One: 30 seconds.

Yes, I figured the bounce-backs I've been receiving were from you. Your site is rejecting the email because it cannot find a reverse address for 72.4.161.195. But that is no longer the IP address of EvC Forum. It's the IP address of EvC Forum's server, which EvC Forum use to share, but EvC Forum now has it's own dedicated IP address as of over a month ago: 207.36.231.74. The reverse IP address for EvC Forum is set to this.
I don't know what might be causing the problem. One guess is that the tables at your site, or perhaps at some site in between, haven't been updated and still have the reverse IP address of EvC Forum recorded as the old 72.4.161.195. Maybe someone with a better understanding of how IP addresses are used on the net has a better guess.

If instead of doing this (linefeeds manually inserted to keep lines from being too long):
You do this:
Original Link Then it should work fine:
You can also link directly to the picture using [img] or [thumb]:
Nice tree! You encountered a known bug, but because of the availability of it isn't a high priority. It's a Perl substitute command that's misbehaving, I can post it if you'd like to examine it, though there's no guarantee the problem doesn't lie in downstream ccode.

I just happen to be rewriting this code today. This is all part of a bigger release involving a move to MySQL for the membership database. I'm hopeful that a release can happen around New Year's.

As a measure to counter Randman's tendency to bring up ******* in every thread, and to call people ***** , I temporarily enabled the censor feature and entered a few words. It's probably served its purpose already if you want to turn it off.

You're not alone. Maybe Jar can get with Nwr and try to fix the email problems. I'm swamped till this release is out.
