I saw a nice quiz on church/state issues:
Page Not Found - Freedom From Religion Foundation The Brits here will likely beat the Yanks on scores, though. But I really did get 21 of 21. Let's compile scores here.

Well that is the biggest bunch of crap I ever saw for a test.
First they ask you
2. How many times does the word "God" appear in the U.S. Constitution? Ok, so we are talking about God here, right? Wrong?
3. How many times does the Declaration of Independence refer to Christianity or Jesus? But the Declaration of Independence does mention the creator. How did it jump from God, to Christianity. well because if it asked you if God was mentioned in the declaration of independence, then you would have to answer YES! So my question to is that a quiz to determine your knowledge of what the term separation of church and state means, or to see just who hates Christianity? Try again. creator does not necessarily mean god.
and the declaration mentions such, not the constitution. they are not the same thing. the declaration is not a government document, but a statement of rebellion. it has no role in our government.

Anyone have a clue why this came about?
11. By an Act of Congress, U.S. currency has carried the motto "In God We Trust" since Or how the pledge of allegiance even came into existance? I mean really, could you be anymore hateful?

Anyone have a clue why this came about? Eisenhower wanted to drive home the difference between America and the "godless" Communists. Cold War rhetoric, in other words.
I mean really, could you be anymore hateful? What's hateful about the facts?

Your joking right?
Why did they jump from God, to Christianity? Isn't it obvious? Separation of church and state does not mean we are an atheist nation, plain and simple. Show me were in any of the constitution, or Decrlaration of Independence that we cannot use bilical principals, or anyother form of morals to make up who and what we are. Show me were it says we are to use only atheistic moral, or morals governed by science to determine or laws? I should start a new nation, and the first ammendment will read, a separation of science and state. Especially since nothing in science is proven.

Sure many of us know how it came about. We had to live through it.
There was a great push, driven primarily by the Knights of Columbus, to add the phrase "In God We Trust" to the money and to also modify the pledge. We had to go through a miserable period every morning relearning the pledge, adding the phrase "Under god". 1954 and 1957. What a total waste of time, resources and intellect. Ok, so we are talking about God here, right? Wrong?
it says creator in the deceloration but not the constitution, and its not talking about the christian god, but the concept of a creator
But the consititution does mention the creator. How did it jump from God, to Christianity. well because if it asked you if God was mentioned in the declaration of independence, then you would have to answer YES!
where does it mention the creator?, when the writers talk about creator they could be talking about the native american, muslim or any religion, it never names the creator, in fact it doesn't say god
So my question to is that a quiz to determine your knowledge of what the term separation of church and state means, or to see just who hates Christianity?
as always if its not in favor of christianity its aganst it, have you no concept of neutral things?

Eisenhower wanted to drive home the difference between America and the "godless" Communists. Cold War rhetoric, in other words. Correct.
What's hateful about the facts?
The way you arrange them, and single out one specific religion. Not that I care really, because I am not a big fan of religion. But I don't think we should be a Godless nation, thats not what was meant by separation of church and state, and the declaration of independence backs me up on that. It means that religous leaders, NOT MORALS, should not be in control of our nation, as they have proven themselves time and again, that they are not good representatives of who and what God is, they are just men, runing there own governement, and use God as an exuse to do terrible things. This also does not mean we should be Godless.

Separation of church and state does not mean we are an atheist nation, plain and simple. I didn't see the point as hate. It was about pointing out, as clearly as possible, what kinds of separations exist between church and state historically, so that we keep some idea of what the phrase "separation between church and state" effectively means.
Show me were in any of the constitution, or Decrlaration of Independence that we cannot use bilical principals, or anyother form of morals to make up who and what we are. I didn't think that's what they were saying. I didn't see the message as inherently hateful either. But there was clearly an agenda. The agenda was to try and make clear the historical meaning of "separation of church and state." And by doing so, I assume they were hoping that we'd follow that.
I should start a new nation, and the first ammendment will read, a separation of science and state. Especially since nothing in science is proven. I actually think this is a topic worth discussion. Maybe you could make a PNT and propose how you'd want such a nation to work? We can think about the pros and cons of that. I'm sure there'd be a lot to talk about, and it would help us talk about what we each believe the roles of religion and science should be in our lives. By the way, I got a 16. I didn't know most of the answers, but given the title of the website, and the tone of the questions, it was easy enough to come up with good guesses for each question. Like I said, they clearly had an agenda. But that's an OK thing.
