I do not think that the common understanding of "exemplary" is "great", esp. given it's obvious link with the word "example". Boasting is generally considered bad manners.But the worst boasting of all is moral boasting. One is putting oneself on a moral pedestal.

Well, I do that in my own small way. At least I think I do. But I must admit that "scenery" bores me after awhile.The problem is that the hunger of imagination outraces reality. That's the nature of the human condition. As a result, we have an occasional sense of "vacuity."

The fact that we have nothing further to discuss is exemplified (see how I did that?) by the fact that you, even with learning that you were ignorant of what my original statment meant due to not knowing what the words used meant, still maintain that my claim was a boast.One wonders if you know what "boast" actually means. Oh, ok. I have lived many years in this world, and I have never known anyone with an exemplary moral character. They all had flaws, many of them serious.But maybe I ran with the wrong crowd.

Maybe so. It's hard to know oneself. I'm aware of some flaws, but there might be other flaws I have that I am not aware of.But I don't think I'm on a moral pedestal here, unless being annoyed by boasts is being on a moral pedestal.
