I'm here in respect to the moderators request of me taking my issue to this thread and not persuing it in the initial thread in which I was forced to leave.
AdminAsgara - "Eight posts and I see a high percentage of OT posts, complaints, and refusal to abide by moderator suggestion. I would attribute much of this to new member ignorance but most new members, when approached by admins are more than happy to comply."
Exactly what have I refused to do? The moment I entered this board I was harrased and accused by moderators and fellow members with such comments as...
Parasomnium - "No, no, that would be totally out of character. You see, Oblivionlord is master of all thing oblivious. Oblivionlord obliviates or 'disobliviates' things at will."
Adminjar - "Looking over posts from someone claiming to be oblivionlord on other forums, I wish to point out that we do not tolerate the behavior seen in those other forums."
Ringo - "So, how are things in oblivion? If you search further down the list of topics, you can probably dredge up some even older ones and subject us to your insight on them. Or, you could find a more current topic to discuss."
Ringo - "I used a smilie, didn't I? You should see how I treat people I don't like."
It's something how I'm isolated out from the rest of the members when they were also "Off Topic" yet for some reason favoritism is at hand towards existing members. If this is the typical conduct that moderators allow then I'll simply leave. It's not like this is the only forum on the net. I came here with the impression of intellectual debates, not to be attacked on the first day. I voiced my opinion within the topics I had interest in yet everyone here finds it so compelling to get bitter just because I've revived an old topic. Excuse me for not having interest in current topics. Isn't that the reason why the topics are in the database for searching and discusion
be it if the old members aren't around to reply or not. Or are all members of this forum only allowed to reply to topics that don't exceed a certain date?
Edited by oblivionlord, : No reason given.

Parasomnium - "No, no, that would be totally out of character. You see, Oblivionlord is master of all thing oblivious. Oblivionlord obliviates or 'disobliviates' things at will."
This comment has been taken out of context. It's sarcastic. Parasomnium was defending Oblivion lord.

Welcome to EvC. I'm sorry that you have had a bad start here.
The first thing to keep in mind, is that the admins are trying to be helpful where possible, When an admin comments about off-topic posting, take that as an attempt to be helpful rather than as a negative.
When replying, please use the "reply" button, which you will find at the bottom right of the message to which you are replying. When you use that, we can see which message you are replying to. Maybe some of the messages that looked off-topic, would have looked more appropriate if we could tell which message you were responding to.
Ringo was making a joke about your replying to old posts. But he did that in his usual sarcastic style, and unfortunately you took offense. Parasomnium was being sarcastic back at Ringo, criticizing him for the tone he took in response to you. So Parasomnium was actually defending you, yet you took offense at that.
Calm down. You are not under attack.

I fail to see how someone is defending me by calling me "a master of all things oblivious". How is this to my benefit?

Satire? Tongue in cheekiness?
Knowing Parasomniums style as I do, I would venture a guess that the remark was satirical. Para has an acerbic yet likeable wit about him.
I just finished talking with oblivionlord in chat and attempted to explain to him the idiosyncrisies of human interaction in a chat forum.
We can be a bit like one of those churches you mentioned in your other post: a bit exclusivist. But in general, we try our best to provide a balnce between disciplined guidelines and rules soas to prevent forum anarchy, and a level of friendliness which can only get better!

Apologies to Oblivionlord
Oblivionlord, I hereby offer you my apologies.
I was making a bit of fun of your name, which seemed rather appropriate in view of the fact that you were mingling in threads that had all but disappeared into oblivion.
But you should appreciate the fact that I then went on to defend you against that bastard Ringo, whose name I cannot make fun of, damn him.
On your behalf I ask the admins to restore your privileges, so that you may start having fruitful discussions here on EvC, instead of having to waste your time on this nasty business.
Good luck and a belated welcome.
