The problems with Biofuels
While biofuels may offer some good feelings to folk, in reality they are not that great an option and the way the US is pursuing them is at best stupid and may well be criminal. First, in the US is looks like the push to biofuels appears to be nothing but another chance to pay off agribusiness and move some more tax dollars into the pockets of the big contributers. Corn and soy beans are among the least effective sources for conversion to fuel. Other sources such as hemp would be far more effective. In addition, any corn or soy beans used for fuel is corn and soy beans that are not available to feed folk.

It is not a matter of religion, it is the Belief in the End Times prophecy. Also, it has only been since post Kennedy that we actually had the capability to destroy mankind.

But do we know that Bush actually believes in that or is merely using religion to get votes? Why take the chance? Just keep the nutjobs away from positions of authority?

But based on his history, Dubya wasn't a nutjob. Sure he was.
And how do we remove people who do turn into nutjobs after gaining the presidency? Impeach their ass.

You can impeach them for being unable to carry out the duties of their position. AbE: But as I have said throughout this and other threads, the important thing is knowledge. Simply do not elect or appoint anyone who believes in End Time Prophecy to any position of authority. Edited by jar, : No reason given.

Then simply have the Vice president declare that the President is incapable of doing the job. But as I said, the first step is to keep nutjobs that believe in End Time Prophecy out of positions in the first place.

That's a hell alot more dangerous then a religious crazy. I don't think anything is more dangerous than religious nutjobs.
A VP cannot relieve the President of command unless there are medical reasons. I think belief in End Time prophecy is a medical reason.

To be technical, quite. Using your source:
1775 - The first Continental Congress called for a National Day of Prayer
1863 - Abraham Lincoln called for such a day. called for.
1952 - Congress established NDP as an annual event by a joint resolution, signed into law by President Truman. Established as I said. And as for content, I don't see where his proclamation in anyway shows that he believed God is on his side in the Iraq conflict and in fact it was presented two years BEFORE we invaded Iraq.

lol i still dont buy that religeon is the greatest threat faceing the planet. (extremist aside) Huh? Please at least try to get things straight when you post regarding my position. I happen to be a Christian and I never said that religion is the threat. I said those who believe in "End Time Prophecy." How is anything you posted even slightly related to the message you are replying to?

end time prophecy is a beleif of all christians. so if you are a christian, you also beleive in the end time prophecy. As a Christian I understand that what was written in Revelations refers to about 1800 years ago. Please stop trying to tell me what I believe. As a human I recognize that those of ANY religion that expect to see some end of an age and Armageddon are dangerous folk. If you read the thread there are also other issues that have been at least, mentioned.

Please either start a topic on Bible interpretation or read the posts in this thread where I have already addressed your points. Then also read the other issues I have brought up in this thread. In particular look at Message 24 and Message 27. Other major issues are the availability and distribution of water. Georgia, Florida, Alabama and Tennessee have been in a Water War for several decades now. The area around the Chesapeake Bay is approaching the limits of sustainability and population growth may need to be severely limited there. While none of those threaten mankind as a whole they do provide test beds to see if we can develop programs to ameliorate the consequences in a non violent way.

you cannot suggest that congress would allow a president to unload nuclear warfare at his choosing. Depends. If the Congress is filled with End Time nutjobs or if the President does not tell Congress what he is doing who knows?
