I was really hoping Practical Prodigy would participate, but after a flurry of initial posts, we haven't seen him in a few days. Maybe he was posting as a school assignment and hit his quota of posts.

Perhaps someone will weigh in to explain. Nothing is necessarily proven but that does not mean some within the perameters of the list don't have a measure of supportive evidence, depending on the hypothetical premises to which evidence is applied. I agree with Admin Moose, The Bible and biblical prophecy are way off topic. Unless Prac. Prod wants to weigh in and say that was what he meant by "Capacity (psychic and spiritual)", but I think you want to just get your pet argument into the discussion and I don't want it derailed, by your unevidenced, unsubstantiated assertions. You tend to do in most other threads your participate in.

I'll find something else to do. Enjoy. BUZSAW B 4 U 2 C Y BUZ SAW. The immeasurable present eternally extends the infinite past and infinitely consumes the eternal future.

Well now, f.y.i, the psyche has to do with the soul or spirit and prophecy is a spiritual gift. Well since you have no evidence it is just a bunch of woo.FYI, there is no soul and no prophecy Facts don't lie or have an agenda. Facts are just facts

Practical Prodigy has posted to other threads since this thread started, but evidently doesn't want to participate here. Since he does not feel his list is worth supporting and no one else seems to feel as he does, I guess there is no sense discussing this any more.
I think it is the consensus of the members that have participated that this is not a list of proven unexplainable phenomena. Either the phenomena does not even exist, or there are valid scientific explanations or hypotheses for them. Thanks to those of you that participated. Facts don't lie or have an agenda. It goes unacknowledged by all secularists including mainline scientists who have no interest whatsoever in becoming accountable to a higher power. I see the BB and singularity are on the list. My prophecy stuff has more verifiable evidence than either, in spite of the fact that science's interest is only in that because it circumvents any notion of ID. The thread went bust only because you want to pick and choose who participates and what items on the list you want aired. BUZSAW B 4 U 2 C Y BUZ SAW. Are you incapable of reading what the moderators? The bible and bible prophecy are off topic. I and they did not want your pet unsubstantiated theories taking over the thread. No one wants to rehash this issue again with you.

Message 1 of this topic had a long list of supposed unexplained phenomena. Leave the topic to that, and put your Biblical prophecy stuff in it's own special place.
Or something like that. Please, no prophecy and no replies to this message. The real Adminnemooseus

I would be very interested to see a list of phenomena. Here is a list of what qualifies:
- It must be an event/effect that can be reproduced in a laboratory OR - It must be an event/effect that can be observed by anyone possessing necessary equipment. Equipment that is fully defined and reproducable. - The effect/event must have no strong scientific theory explaining it. Guesswork and theories with no evidence are allowable. In fact the effect/event could even blatantly contradict some known physical mechanism. Here's one example; in the earliest days of powered flight, some stated that the bumble bee should not be able to fly. Of course since then science has worked out how this little insect manages it. But for a time, it was a phenomena.

I don't know if it can be reproduced in a lab, but ball lightning fits the other two criteria.

I think there are some very strong theories of the mechanism behind ball lightning. There may very well be several "types" of ball lightning, so there may be more than one explanation. I do not feel it is a totally unexplained phenomena.

Nor do I, but that wasn't a criteria for his list of "phenomena". I do not feel it is a totally unexplained phenomena. He asked for something that:

I find this one tricky, because if we can replicate it in a laboratory, we pretty much know how it works.
must be an event/effect that can be reproduced in a laboratory Dexx writes:
This holds true for ball lightning, anyone can see it, if it occurs.
must be an event/effect that can be observed by anyone possessing necessary equipment. Equipment that is fully defined and reproducable. Dexx writes:
I don't know how "strong" the explanations are that wiki provides, but there are of course explanations. The effect/event must have no strong scientific theory explaining it. Guesswork and theories with no evidence are allowable. In fact the effect/event could even blatantly contradict some known physical mechanism. So, you see, it doesn't matter that there is an explanation, it just can't be a strong one.

Well the believers in the supernatural are not willing to participate here in any meaningful sense. The original poster of the list I used in the OP ran away like a scared puppy when he was asked to provide any sort of backing for his claims.
The effect/event must have no strong scientific theory explaining it. Guesswork and theories with no evidence are allowable. In fact the effect/event could even blatantly contradict some known physical mechanism. This completely changes the phenomena as described in the OP. This leads things very wide open to extreme subjectivity. The purpose of this thread is to show that there either hard scientific explanations for the phenomena or at least reasonable theories, ther than godidit Facts don't lie or have an agenda. Facts are just facts

Would the sailing stones found in Death Valley qualify?
