Re: Windows 8?
I'm holding out for a gestural interface. As a proficient touch typist, I want the device to read my fingers w/o needing a keyboard of any kind. Until then, I'll stick with keyboard and mouse--unless I'm afflicted against my will with a smart phone or tablet.

I demand a synaptic interface!
READ MY MIND, EXPLORER.EXE!
That would rock.
But I'd have to change operating systems. No way I'm letting Microsoft read my mind.

Re: Windows 8?
I haven't seen Minority Report, but yeah, I guess there's nothing new under the sun.
But I've thought for years that a device that could track my hands/fingers would be ideal--I'd also like to see a similar interface used to create/conduct music.
I can type around 100 wpm on a physical keyboard (clocked at 120 wpm in my youth--I've slowed), and if I didn't have to fully complete those digit gestures, I bet I could double that.
Add point and double-point, plus all the touchscreen stuff in 3-D instead of 2-D and without actual touch, and I think even voice would have difficulty matching the input density you could achieve.

Re: Windows 8?
Watched the video--looks great for data and image access and manipulation, not so much for data input.
But I could see Jackson Pollock having a blast with it.
