Otherwise I don't know of any church-authorized "wickedness" on the Protestant side. You don't know because you are not even trying. Why did the Baptist Church splinter in 1845? Why did the Methodist Church have a similar split? Sometimes it is best just to keep silent.
The Lutheran Church did sincerely apologize for Luther's anti-Semitic outburst As if Luther's anti-Semitism was a one-time thing. You are aware that we only know about his beliefs because he wrote about them, right? Edited by NoNukes, : No reason given. Under a government which imprisons any unjustly, the true place for a just man is also in prison. Perhaps you should take it upon yourself to explain what you mean. And how on earth does a split in a denomination in any way support the idea of general Protestant "wickedness?"

You are aware that we only know about his beliefs because he wrote about them, right? The Roman church had incited Anti-Semitism for centuries, notably in Spain, and went on promoting pogroms and the like. Hitler's Catholicism played no small part in the Holocaust, he even said he modeled it on the Inquisition, not to mention the actual influence of the Pope in his day. However, as I understand it Luther had broken free of that influence to the extent of reaching out to the Jews. Of course he preached the gospel to them which didn't sit well. But it was the curses against Christ that he found in their Talmud that pushed him over the edge. That's what I've read. In any case there is no BIBLICAL justification for anti-Semitism. Faith writes: But it was the curses against Christ that he found in their Talmud that pushed him over the edge. You really need to stop reading lying sources. There are no curses against Christ in the Talmud or the Tanakh.

There are certainly no curses against Christ in the Tanakh because the Tanakh is the Bible. But there are blasphemies against Christ in the Babylonian Talmud, that perpetuate the story that he was a bastard born of the marital infidelity of Mary. She had to suffer that accusation by the Jews at the time.

...the story that he was a bastard born of the marital infidelity of Mary. That's just Ockham's razor in action. It only hurts if you're a whisker.

In the rational world, no unsubstantiated claim goes unchallenged. Fixed it for you. The shaving cream probably got in your mind's eye.

Wikipedia on JESUS IN THE TALMUD
Ehrman clarifies that the name "Son of Panthera" (Roman who allegedly was the seducer of Mary) was a tradition, as scholars have long recognized, that represented an attack on the Christian view, that he was the son of a virgin. In Greek, the term for virgin is parthenos, which is similar to panthera, implying that "son of panthera" is a pun on "son of a virgin".[55][56] The name "ben Stada", used for the same figure, is explained by Peter Schfer as a reference to his mother's supposed adultery:
His mother's true name was Miriam, and "Stada" is an epithet which derives from the Hebrew/Aramaic root sat.ah/sete' ("to deviate from the right path, to go astray, to be unfaithful"). In other words, his mother Miriam was also called "Stada" because she was a sotah, a woman suspected, or rather convicted, of adultery."[57] You may of course prefer to believe the denials in the same article, since as I said No Christian truth goes unpunished at EvC. Sorry faith that is only two falsehoods from you in one post; you must be off your feed. The Tanakh is NOT the Bible. And the Babylonian Talmud is hardly concerned with the fledgling Christianity.

Falsely quoting someone is a serious offense. Oh dear, you're not taking yourself seriously again are you?Be assured, no one else does. Well, except for the generic caution about the danger of ignorant, ideologically blinded people in large numbers.

It only speaks volumes to those with a an ingrained prejudice against everything I say. You're projecting again. My contempt for your claims comes from being raised a creationist and understanding first-hand the lack of honesty evinced by believers when they are asked to confront evidence. I hope you don't imagine there is even a shred of originality in your dissembling.
