Change leaves evidence and all of the evidence shows this never happened.
If the earth stood still for even a day the evidence of that having happened would be overwhelming. For one thing it would have destroyed all life on earth. This is just another example of the silly stories humans wrote and that got included in the fantasies in the Bible. It's certainly important enough for stand up comedy though.

Sorry Charley but that is simply not true. It is just part of the fantasy.
But little kids do enjoy a fantasy. It was true when the Bible stories were written and true in 1917 and still true today. Edited by jar, : hit wrong key

Phat writes: What I wont do, however, is rule out any possibility that He can if need be.The God whom I worship is not restrained by human logic. You always ask the stupidly wrong questions. Is the world we all live in constrained by one set of physics? Is there ANY evidence of the rules of physics being different from one place to another and one moment to another? Specifically, in regard to the Fatima fantasy; why didn't the approximately 1.8 BILLION other people alive on that day in 1917 notice anything unusual? The Fatima fantasy is simply good marketing propaganda for one small segment of one Chapter of Club Christian. It's certainly not a matter of logic since anyone believing such nonsense has already totally abandoned reason, logic and reality.

Phat Phat Phat.
I hold no animosity towards the Apologist. They are simply doing the same job as the Carny Barker or Medicine Man or Card Shark. Most are also very good at what they do. But I do feel a need to point out that neither you or anyone else has provided any evidence or reasoned argument showing why they should not be thought of just as any other Carny Barker or Medicine Man or Card Shark?
Phat writes: Newsflash: You can't find evidence for God. At best you will find plenty of evidence for human behavior. Still asking the stupid questions. We can see evidence of human behavior that shows that none of the around 1.8 BILLION people on the Earth in 1917 saw what the few gathered and pre-selected to be gullible claim they saw. And not even most of those making such claims claim to have seen the same thing. We see similar behavior with witness statements. Fantasy based people see what they want to see. And Phat, change leaves evidence. If God moves the sun it would get moved for everyone and in addition it would move the Earth. You can't move the sun without affecting Earth orbit, something every single one of the approximately 1.8 BILLION people on Earth would have noticed. Now THAT would make the news.

Phat writes: So you are essentially defining what God can do? Oh I get it...God is limited by science. God can move the sun any way shape or form that he so chooses. The only thing God cannot force to move is jars will and perceived intelligence. Thats the real sticking point here. You really never think do you? You insist on demonstrating what a pitiful deplorable God you worship. Stop and think about the Fatima fantasy. A very few of the approximately 1.8 Billion people on Earth in 1917 see the sun moving in the sky. They don't all see the same thing. None of the other 1.8 Billion people saw anything. Either the people saw what they thought they should see or your God (Coyote) was just funning them and so made up a make believe scenario. Just for them. Just for SOME of them. Physics works Phat. Changes leave evidence. Either your God is not just vile and evil but also a conjurer, a carny shyster or the humans were having a fantasy. You only get to pick one.
Phat writes: God may have only sought to impress upon the minds of the desperate believers the fact that He was present. The sun may not have actually moved, but was perceived to have done so. On the other hand, the God I worship could turn the sun into a giant pumpkin had He so wanted...and have been equally capable of suspending any physical consequences to the billions of humans here on earth. And so you chose the trickster, the shyster; Coyote. Interesting.

Phat writes: 1) What do you think about the Prophecy allegedly through Malachi? It's another great example of the length that true believers will go to to convince themselves that fantasy is reality.

Phat writes: Well I did notice that many commentators thought it was fake. Fake is probably the wrong word. It's a creation, a myth, a marketing device. It's like the Trinity, a human creation that serves some social purpose. In the case of the Trinity it was political; a method of excluding competing ideas. In the case of almost all prophecies it is a human creation to promote membership in a smaller sub-community. Like the Fatima fantasy and the Exodus and the Conquest of Canaan they are all human creations, myths that are incorporated into a communal mythos.

Phat writes: Since when is absolute truth arrived at through consensus? All that consensus (amongst humans) does it give us a compromise that we can live with. Since when has there ever been ANY absolute truth? And what the hell does that even have to do with anything I posted?
Phat writes: You may argue that the serpant told the truth in that we would not die and that we have as a species in fact flourished to this very day. I might point out, however, that the serpant may have told only a half truth. Yes, we would be *like God* yet we never have and never will *be God.* Nor will the fallen angel. See above.
Phat writes: Hint: The way to win this argument is to ridicule me for my beliefs and throw me in a pile with all of the apologists while at the same time pointing out what the evidence shows regarding your interpretations and how the evidence shows that GOD is not interactive among humans and that the entirety of responsibility falls on us. See above above. Once again Phat, you simply resort to irrelevancies and utter nonsense instead of addressing what others post.

But even then nothing you posted addressed the content of that message. You continue to market an indefensible evil God.

Since when has there ever been ANY absolute truth?John 14:6-7 writes: Thats about as absolute as it gets. Feel free to dismiss the redactors, but they had no ulterior motive. They were in my opinion divinely inspired to report the absolute truth. 6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him." But the quote you and so many Apologists love to take out of context and throw around actually says NOTHING. It is not some absolute or even some truth. What truth is involved? Why is the statement in direct contradiction of so many other statements alleged to have been made by Jesus? The issue is that you and the Apologists love to claim that the Bible is some whole yet also love to take pieces parts out of it and try to make them stand alone. You guys love always having it two or more ways as long as the pieces parts you pull out of context support the position you happen to be marketing at that moment. If the authors and editors and redactors were divinely inspired to report the absolute truth why are there so many outright falsehoods, fantasies and contradictions in the report? Two replies and still you present no evidence or reasoned arguments or address the issues I raise.
AbE: Phat, this really is an important issue. You and the Apologists claim that the Bible is divinely inspired and that what is written shows Absolute Truth. BUT, the reality is as has been pointed out to you many times that the Bible contains errors, contradictions, evidence of evolving mythos and revisionism. Neither you or ANY Apologists ever address that issue. Many of us though point out that what is actually written is evidence of human creation rather than divine inspiration and that assertion explains why there are errors, contradictions, evidence of evolving mythos and revisionism. Sheesh Phat.
You have absolutely no idea of what truth is and have decided that you will simply ignore truth whenever it makes you feel uncomfortable. You have decided to accept lies rather than truth and fantasy rather than reality. You and the Apologists claim that the Bible is divinely inspired and that what is written shows Absolute Truth. BUT, the reality is, as has been pointed out to you many times, that the Bible contains errors, contradictions, evidence of evolving mythos and revisionism. Neither you or ANY Apologists ever address that issue. Many of us though point out that what is actually written is evidence of human creation rather than divine inspiration and that assertion explains why there are errors, contradictions, evidence of evolving mythos and revisionism. If you want to dispute that conclusion then you will have to present either evidence or reasoned argument to support your position. Good luck.

And even if that were true it would still not be evidence of any miracle.
Try thinking. Who knows, you might even like it.
