English 1970s punk
Doing my paper round the morning the Sex Pistols first hit the headlines in 1976 (for swearing on a regional evening TV programme).

Seeing the Cure and Joy Division live in 1979 or 1980, the Cure at the fashionable Marquee club in London, Joy Division (who were unknown at the time) at the distinctly unfashionable Bolton Institute of Technology.
