This is classic gold, as soon as you said the banana thing, I knew what the show was. There is a humorous piece about it here, fantastically titled: Argumentum ad Bananum

Re: I love it
They expose people who believe in what they believe in for wrong reasons. Many people go through the education system, and they leave you no choice but not to believe in God...They bring people to their own conviction to what they know in their heart to be wrong. The Holy Spirit works in them to let them know the truth.
Heh, I guess the lesson of the day is that it's easier to convince people who accept what they are told without investigation. Perhaps this means that The Holy Spirit works best on the gullible?

Matthew 5 27,28 writes:
You have heard that it was said, 'Do not commit adultery.'
But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
Looking is as bad as touching I'm afraid, Jesus said so.

its easy to convert a person that believes whatever you say
They believed what they learned in school.
Yes I know, the people in question went through school and simply believed whatever they were told and (if you look at the interviews) clearly have not researched or critically examined (or given much thought to) the subjects they are being interviewed about (the big bang is where a rock from another planet hit earth?). It seems these people are the kind of people that believe what they were told in school, without questioning it, they didn't really learn the stuff and clearly don't remember what they were told. They are the kind of people that believe whatever you (as in, an authority) tell them. It is easy to convert this kind of person, that was the lesson of the day
I wonder if they interview people who know what they are talking about? Do they just neglect to show those? Is that a form of dishonesty? I guess that's a debate for another day

Mod breaks all the commandments, without getting out of his chair
You can do the test here
So - here it goes, the why Mod has broken all ten commandments:
1. "You shall have no other gods before Me."
Apparantly I've broken this one because I haven't always put God first in my life. I'm not sure that's accurate. I'm pretty sure I've broken the commandment in perfectly legitimate ways, by putting other gods before YHWH, for example...I'm doing it right now.
2. "You shall not make for yourself any idol."
Apparantly having a 'personal belief' via private revelation is idolatry, so I'm out of luck here.
3. "You shall not take the name of God in vain."
Jesus Christ, this is Godamned stupid. Yep, break this one all the time. I'm fairly sure that this commandment is misunderstood.
4. "Remember the Sabbath Day, to keep it holy."
No brainer, whatever day the Sabbath is, I treat like the others. Perhaps I treat all days with equal holiness but I don't think that counts.
5. "Honor your father and your mother."
I'm not breaking this one whilst sat here, but I was a teenager once.
6. "You shall not murder."
Apparantly, according to Comfort et al, I've broken this commandment. "1Jo 3:15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him."
7. "You shall not commit adultery."
I've looked on plenty of people with lust in my heart and had pre-marital sex.
8. "You shall not steal."
9. "You shall not lie."
10. "You shall not covet."
Yup broken those in my time. As I sit here, apparantly I have broken every one. OK, what's next?
Apparantly, everyone has sinned, a dilemma. Then comes the crux:
Isn't it true that every time you lied, stole, or lusted, etc., you knew it was wrong?
No, I didn't. Apparantly though it should scare me that I've sinned against an entity I don't believe exists, which makes me an enemy of said entity. Fortunately though, He paid my 'fine' by sacrficing Himself on the cross, that isn't good enough though and I still have to put Jesus on and desire no sin etc. It's the classic Dark Ages conversion method. Convert or burn in hell for eternity.
