You think that worries you? Check out this. I am beginning to think that there is a sustained effort, most notably by this administration and its allies, to really limit the powers of the judicial branch which many of them see as being too liberal.
Constitution Restoration Act of 2004
What stands out to me the most is this (specifically in bold):
"Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter, the Supreme Court shall not have jurisdiction to review, by appeal, writ of certiorari, or otherwise, any matter to the extent that relief is sought against an element of Federal, State, or local government, or against an officer of Federal, State, or local government (whether or not acting in official personal capacity), by reason of that element's or officer's acknowledgement of God as the sovereign source of law, liberty, or government.'."
NOW with Bill Moyers had an enlightening interview with the attorny general of N.Y. (Andrew Spitzer? sp? too lazy to look it up) who talked about the lengths the administration is going to to block states rights, etc.

I just finished watching a Frontline documentary on PBS about Bush and his evangelicalism. This broadcast, which can be seen at the link, is both interesting and extremely frightening in the purest sense of the word. They document Bush's rise to power using the Evangelical vote, the power of that voting block, his ties with evangelical groups such as the Christian Coalition, and his appointments within his departments and in the judiciary system (he comments that he will appoint judges that understand where America recieved it's rights from - ie. God.) (yes he actually says they come from God!)
One of the scarier moments was a speech in which he detailed his plan for the faith-based programs. When questioned about whther these groups will be allowed to discriminate in this federal program he grabs a bible and tells the reporters that above federal regulations is a higher law, and raises up the bible. Incidentily Frontline states that not $1 has gone to any other faith-based group except christian and these groups have recieved approx. $1.1 Billion. The Department of Housing and Social Services? has itself given $100 million strictly to christian groups even though other faiths such as muslim, hindu, and jewish groups have applied.)
This is a must see for those interested in the erosion of rights in the U.S.
Here is the URL - The jesus factor
Click the "view program online" and it will have four chapters for viewing.
Again, this scared the crap outa me watching this. I would hate to see what he would do if given another four years.
EDIT: Just wanted to point out my opinion that the President of the United States should be neutral in his public views, of faith at the very least. He can surely believe whatever he wants but should do so privately.

Talk about Hate
Is it just me or does WT's posts seem filled with the Hate he accuses others of? I mean look at the language, the vitriol. The scariest thing is that WT professes to be a Christian person.
hmmm...right
