Anything that begins to exist has a cause for its existence.
I personally would grant that as being correct. To us, that cause is unknown and may be unknowable. You want to call that great unknown "God".
There is another term for not knowing - It's "ignorance". Therefore "ignorance" = "God". Or so seems your line of reasoning.

A new universe within an old universe?
What if, 13.5 billion years ago, a universe existed but it consisted of nothing but absolutely empty space? Then the new universe started up and became what we now know.
Then, ultimately, our universe expands and decays to become the newer huge volume of absolutely empty space.
Then, maybe, repeat it all again...
