When mutations happen, there is no new genetic infomationt that occurs. Its just the oppisite that happens, a loss of genetic infomation.
"Information" is not necessarily lost or gained (indeed, "information" is difficult to define). An exercise:
ACGTTTAGCGCGATATA
mutates to:
ACGTTTAGTGCGATATA
SEVEN, which one of these sequences has "more information"? Why?
