The Whys of Evolution

What if you couldn't make up your mind?After all, an agnostic--if I am defining it correctly--does have a belief. His belief is that there is not enough evidence one way or the other to decide, nor is it possible for there to be.But what if you don't know if there is enough evidence one way or another to decide? There might be enough evidence and there might not be.What could we call such an attitude as that?

Are you suggesting that on the elemental level, the physical world grades into the mental?

I'm not. I commented on it because the same thought has crossed my mind as well.

What slant would that be?Would it be something like this?We have all this evidence that evolution occurred: here it is.We have no evidence as to why it occurred, and we also have very scanty evidence about how life originated in the first place.As regards God, we don't know one way or the other.Is that the "slant"?I call it telling the truth.

Well, I'm a teacher and I am very careful NOT to tell the students my fundamental beliefs, or even hint at them. In my opinion, that is improper.

I don't belong to any organizations.I don't believe in "organizations."I stress to my students honesty, integrity, and logic. I'm not saying I do this successfully, but that is my ideal.
