Re: Yourself
It's pretty freakin basic, if you hope, you get energy, to do his works, or wahtever God wants you to do.
When you stop hoping, it goes away.
Energy does not give you hope.
If hope=energy then can I hope my furnace to work?
Or can I just hope for food and recieve energy?
I usally feel much more hopeful when I'm energetic.

definitions
God will provide, that is a promise.
How can a being outside our comprehension provide?
How can god make a promise?

Re: definitions
If that "being" spoke the universe into existance with his words, don't you think it is possible for him to provide some how?
God makes several promises in the bible. Some of these you can experience for yourself. But they are all subjective, that is why a lot of people shrug it off, and do not pursue it further. Some things in science are subjective also, yet we believe in it.
As soon as that being spoke it ceased being infinite and entered the realm of the temporal.
What are these promises? Can you be sure your'e not being sold land in Florida sight unseen.

No, I am not. I say they have simple choosen to not believe, or deny the existance of God.
Could you please say what your god is in your own words.
If you can't define it it dosen't exist.

everywhere
Well since you didn't even reconize the quotes I put are from the bible, then I have to say you really didn't comprehend it.
Did you not find God, or did you choose not to find God?
If god is omnipresent, why do I have to look?
What am I looking for?
You se RR when someone talks about a bird we can all agree on a definition, but with god no two people seem to agree on what we are talking about.

Re: Yourself
I'm out of this one, it's going no where, even Jesus walked away from the lame.
Comparing oneself to Jesus?
Thought Jesus healed the lame.

Re: Yourself
What a dark place your mind is, what a great advert your posts are for becoming an atheist.
Makes you wonder if we are not seeing a masterfull presentation.
Is RR for real?

Re: Define "Definition"
DHA asks:So DHA, are we both believers?
No, DHA stands for Diamond Hard Athiest.
Morals arise because we are social animals.
For futher understandings of morals you may want to look at the laws in force in your juristiction.
Could you, in your own words define god, please.

Hi daaaaaBEAR,
I still think my question important to answer before considering your question about whether we can disprove demons. You're operating under the assumption that you have reasonable grounds for accepting the existence of demons, and Charles is posing rhetorical questions intended to get you to question those grounds. Your responses make clear that you believe you have far better grounds for accepting demons than Charles does for believing in a besheeted Satan raising Lazarus while going WOOOOO WOOOOO, but until you and Charles understand those grounds you're just going to go back and forth like this.
I think Charles probably believes you accept demons on faith and not by evidence, and that all faith-based beliefs with no evidence have an equal possibility of being true.
If you had at least asked him to define demons it would have been a stab at staying on topic.LOL
So what's your god?
I'm saying if you can't define it, it isn't real.

Re: Define "Definition"
It was not until I "got saved" that I actually was clearly aware of His reality...presence, and power. I can only describe the experience as awe inspired fear, not fear as in being afraid of having offended or done wrong but rather, fear in an awe and reverential way. I KNEW that I had somehow met a living power that was far greater than anything that my mind could ever explain.
What were you saved from?
I have experienced awe and it had nothing to do with fear.

But demons, well, sure demons are perfectly reasonable to believe in!
And after all these posts I still don't know what any of these believers mean when thy speak of god or demons. Maybe when they use these words they mean exactly what the one that uses them wants it to.
