If evil is the absence of god, how do you explain the horrible atrocities committed by Christianity in honor of god(who was obviously in their hearts and minds)?
I can think of two ways, either:
1)the horrible atrocities were not evil
or:
2)the horrible atrocities were not in god's honor

Science fails to recognize the single most potent element of human existence.
Letting the reigns go to the unfolding is faith, faith, faith, faith.
Science has failed our world.
Science has failed our Mother Earth.

Re: ....
Are you seriously trying to argue that many of the wars and religious persecution over the years were not in gods name?
no...what I meant by not being in god's honor was that:
quote:
they didn't have the official backing of god
and for them to be not evil I meant that they did have the official backing of god and they were doing the right thing...
I tend to agree more with the first one...although they might have claimed to be doing god's work, in realty, they were not.
even if they didn't have the official backing of god everyone still thinks they did because that was their reason to justify it
what everyone thinks doesn't affect whether or not god is officially backing them. why does it matter what everyone thinks?
