Well, South America is not ours, it is the South Americans. The South Americans have first dibs on their natural resources to improve their lives. If we were true capitalists we should be willing to pay a fair price for the use of those natural resources; we have no god given right to such a mind-boggling degree of wealth.

Re: Obviously not Christian, but....
Hi, deerbreh.
Yeah, Arbenz, Allende, the Sandanistas.... I don't think democratic elections are relevant in discussions of US foreign policy.

Re: Transcript
WTF?
There was a popular coup that overthrew him.
A popular coup? The only thing popular about that coup was the resistance that put him back in power.
He won the presidential election; his supporters won the parliamentary elections; the constitution he supported (including the provision that made it possible to recall him) was passed by popular referendum; the recall against him was voted down in a popular election....
Do some people live in some kind of fantasy land?

Re: Howard Dean
Speaking for myself, I don't see much on this list that I would characterize as not being smart, passioinate, or honest. In fact I would pretty much agree with all of them myself, except for two or three.

hat's the power that liberals had & still have.
I love the paranoia of the far right. Long after the last liberal has been sent to the gas chamber, the conservatives will still be checking for liberals under their beds.
