Re: Because
John 10:10 writes:
The truth is that real devils exist, and to be free from their influences we are to resist them and submit ourselves to the God of the Bible.
Of course, you have no evidence* for this statement. It could be that you have to place your faith in Mohammed or Thor or whatever other deity. Or it could be that devils don't exist at all.
*with evidence I don't mean you quoting an old book that you THINK is the truth, but for which you have no supporting evidence.

Re: Because
I don't really care what lewis said, in fact, I don't even see how that quote is in any way relevant to what I said. It's probably me though, I never get what you're on about.
As for this bit:
John 10:10 writes:
Belief in God is a reality that comes from believing that He exists and that He rewards those that dilligently seek Him.
Are you going to do the same thing again you did on the objective/subjective morals/conscience? Thread? Just spouting non-sequiturs and bible quotes? If so, please stop, you're boring me allready. I'll just have to tel you this again, I guess: "Quotes from old books you THINK are true, but are not supported by anything else, are not evidence". I do hope I got the point across, else we're in for quite a dreary ride, people.

Re: Paging the Infallible John 10:10
If my previous conversations with John are anything to go on, get ready for some massive circular reasoning.

Re: Why I am not confident
I know this is not the topic here, but I couldn't resist. This is all I will say on it though:

What I haven't figured out yet is how the first man's mom got pregnant, or who she was. You got any idea's?
I don't know who she was, but how she got pregnant is easy. She had sex with a male of her species. If you want to discuss this further, I suggest opening up a new topic or findigng an old one to ressurect.

Making fun of someone misspelling a word, to then misspell their misspelling is very funny to me.

Re: Why I am not confident
Hey Bertot, hope you don't mind me piping in.
Oh, and Percy, I'll try an keep it brief.
Bertot writes:
I appreciate your willingness to make an attempt at defending your CONFIDENCE in the theory of evolution. Yet it should be obvious to anyone that you are trying to redifine BELIEF for youself and your cohorts and ascribe another definition for those of us that believe in God or the scriptures.
I can't speak for Modulous, but for me, with all the data I have right now, I KNOW evolution is true. I also know there is absolutely no data that supports the existence of god, so as far as that is concerned, I also KNOW god does not exist.
If I make a statement that the bridge will not collapse before I cross it. This statement is obviously unfalsifiable
No it isn't. If the bridge were to collapse before you crossed it, it would be falsified.
The THEORY of evolution and its methodologies therefore fails in presenting itself as a superior method of a belief
Why did you emphasize theory? Don't tell me you still don't know what theory means in science. Since the ToE is based on evidence, it can't be a method of belief, since belief requires an absence of evidence.
Simply because a valid belief in God is unfalsifiable does not mean it is not based in material evidence and should not be accepted for terminology sake.
Perhaps not, but there is no material evidence for god, and if there was, it wouldn't be belief, it would be knowing.
