I still think he's not a kid...I always thought this. This whole thread has the foul stench of bullshit. Oh, look, the conspiracy theorist speaks. He scents a conspiracy. Now, apart from the fact that you have no evidence, what would be the point? There's a reason why a teenager would pretend to be an adult, but why in the world would an adult pretend to be a teenager? And this would have to be a prolonged hoax. For example, last week lyx2no wrote:
Oh well, my mom's making lunch. But also he's been posting here for more than a year, with over 1000 posts, and he's always come across as an honest straightforward kind of guy. But you think that now, suddenly, he's going to play us all for fools ... for no conceivable benefit for himself? I find it easier to believe that he is, as he represents himself, a smart teenager, than that he's a smart adult pretending to be a teenager for reasons that so far escape us. Edited by Dr Adequate, : No reason given.

I noticed the "mum" as well, and was thinking of asking why an American would use that spelling. Well, he definitely said "mom" last week, so we have only one conclusion to draw. HE IS REALLY TWO PEOPLE!!! Or possibly a zombie, I've heard that zombies do that. * sighs *

Nothing, as long as they aren't doing drugs.
Doing the drugs makes thing bad.

Doing the drugs makes thing bad. Why is that? "A still more glorious dawn awaits

Dr Adequate writes: HE IS REALLY TWO PEOPLE.. That's it. That resolves the age question. He's his own father, and when has this been known to happen before? HE'S THE SECOND COMING!

DA writes: HE IS REALLY TWO PEOPLE.. Except that in the case of lyx2no this is actually the case. The original lyx2no was the uncle of the current lyx2no. He took over his alias. I think Oni's point is that he remains unconvinced that this actually occurred. As to why he is convinced of this - Well we will have to wait and see what he says.

Doing the drugs makes thing bad. Why is that? Don't ask awkward questions. Just say - NO!!!

No, because I have a problem with people just arbitrarily saying "drugs are bad, mmmkay", when it is the individual doing the drugs that is bad. I have done damn near every drug under the sun and i am no "crackhead" or "junkie".
"just say no" is just like teaching kids abstinence instead of sexual education. You put weed on the same pedastal as meth/heroin. You know what drugs are bad? Prescription drugs that have unknown side effects, or side effects that are worse than the problem you are taking them for. The ones that the doctors have no plans to ween you off of. Oh, look, the conspiracy theorist speaks. He scents a conspiracy. You've been a little snippy on this thread, Dr. A, what's up, ran out of Vicodin or something?
But also he's been posting here for more than a year, with over 1000 posts, and he's always come across as an honest straightforward kind of guy. But you think that now, suddenly, he's going to play us all for fools ... for no conceivable benefit for himself? As Straggler mentioned, I've stated my case before. Did you forget the Obit thread where "someone" (his mum) announced that the "original" lyx2no passed away? Then chimes in young lyx2no claiming the OG was his uncle, and apparently his uncle mentioned EvC to young lyx which has now become obsessed with this site. To quote the young fella:
quote: So this is allegedly the 2nd version of lyx. Now, since we have both poster's posts archived you can go back to the "uncle" and read those posts, then read the young fellas posts and see if they match, are similar writing styles, use the same writing patterns, etc. So I did and TO ME it seems iiiiidentical. <---- Vinny)
Uncle lyx from Universe Racequote: Young lyx from My encounter with Allahquote: To me, it seems the sarcasm, writing styles, referencing tactic in the jokes, method of delivery is all too similar. And I just picked two random posts that were short.
I find it easier to believe that he is, as he represents himself, a smart teenager, than that he's a smart adult pretending to be a teenager for reasons that so far escape us. Why do people dress up like furry animals and have sex? Are you serious? The fact that he can be a teenager amongst a group of ignorant grown up adult creationist seems like a fun identity to take on a forum where no one can know your real age. People fake their identity on the internets all the time, dude. For what reason I don't know. But I'm sure right now there's a dude talking to what he thinks is a kid online, only to then find himself in the future sitting in a kitchen holding a 6-pack of Mike's Hard Lemonade and talking to Chris Hansen. Or a guy thinking he's talking to an attractive woman but in actuality he's talking to an unattractive guy who's just fucking with him. It's the internet, that's why someone can do it. That's why people have done it. And I feel lyx is doing it too. Now that's just my opinion, so throw back a few Vicodin's and relax, Doc. - Oni

I was being somewhat facetious.
I have done damn near every drug under the sun and i am no "crackhead" or "junkie". OK. Are we gonna have a "I've done X" drug-off contest?

But with what motive? If it's supposed to be a practical joke, then you could hardly make the case for maturity, could you? It may go deeper than just a practical joke. I 'm not going to speculate on why, it just seems that way to me. - Oni

Oni writes: People fake their identity on the internets all the time, dude. For what reason I don't know. I am a transexual American conservative republican creationist senator who owns an arsenal of guns and an air craft hanger full of gas guzzling oil-mobiles. I hate cyclists, have never been to Europe (Goddam I have never left Alaska - Why would anyone?) and write material for Fox news. My online persona is a complete fabrication and I am delighted that I no longer need to live the lie. Palin for pres!!!!!

You've been a little snippy on this thread, Dr. A, what's up, ran out of Vicodin or something? Yes. I have.
Don't piss me off.
I didn't know that, I admit that it lends some weight to the conspiracist take on events.
To me, it seems the sarcasm, writing styles, referencing tactic in the jokes, method of delivery is all too similar. Yes, there is a certain family resemblance ... oh, wait ...
Why do people dress up like furry animals and have sex? I can't even explain my own sexual perversions. Que sera sera.

That's why people have done it. And I feel lyx is doing it too. Yes, but the fact that people can do it doesn't mean that this is often done. I believe that you're a stand-up comedian, 'cos you say so. Presumably you believe that I have a doctorate in math. And lyx2no says he's 15. Why should we doubt him? I need a reason to believe that someone's a liar. So far everything lyx2no has said is consistent with him being just what he says he is. If I'm wrong, I lose nothing. At the most, I lose a few moments of my life by posting this stuff, and if I really cared about that I could give up smoking. But if you're wrong, you're being needlessly unpleasant to someone who by all the other available evidence is a nice guy. I prefer to err on the side of caution. I'm going to take him at face value until he actually starts asking me for money. What do I have to lose? Edited by Dr Adequate, : No reason given.
