And she could laugh at herself. A great lady to be sure.

She was one vicious bitch.
I adored her.

Re: RIP Joan Rivers
Christine Lavin just gave Joan a great tribute on facebook around 7:45pm, recalling an early episode in her career when she was having a bad night opening for Rivers.

Raphael Ravenscroft
Maybe you don't know his name. Maybe you're thinking "With a name like that, surely he was a minor character in Harry Potter?" But there can hardly be a single person on these forums who hasn't been made happy by his work. He was the guy who played the saxophone on Baker Street.

Re: Click... Or maybe Clack
That is sad...almost as bad as getting a check engine light. Oh well, I guess that I will put a little electrical tape over that pain and ignore it until it goes away.
It astounds me how strongly I can feel the loss of someone that I have never met. I had the same thing for Robin Williams. Just sad.

My son met him when he picked up a dead van the bike safety committee was donating. He tried to start it but failed.
And now we've lost Tom Menino too.

That's why we have his thread. If they didn't have that effect, they wouldn't be great.
(I have to keep checking this thread to see if I'm dead yet - and if I'm great enough for anybody to notice. )

Yeah I don't know if you will ever show up here. You would likely have to announce it yourself and that may be problematic. I suppose that we could start an 'also ran' thread.
Of course if you keep coming back as zombie ringo then we might have to disqualify you.

John Doar
John Doar, Federal Lawyer on Front Lines Against Segregation, Dies at 92
With the situation growing more tense by the second, Mr. Doar, 6 feet 2 inches and still as solid as the school athlete he had been, walked into the 50-yard space separating the two groups and addressed the marchers. Bricks and bottles crashed around his feet. One man stood behind him brandishing a tire iron.
My name is John Doar D-O-A-R, he shouted to the crowd. I’m from the Justice Department, and anybody here knows what I stand for is right.
With balls of steel and unimpeachable integrity, he fought for justice and changed the world for the better.

Goodbye Dr. Huxtable
Dead:
The irony is he was brought down by a young black comic who he most likely inspired.
