Re: Credibility
Taq writes:

My parents gave me advice with clarity and yet I don't feel like I have been stripped of any choice. I can choose to follow their advice or not.

The advice from God is clear enough. As Jesus says, it is all about love. Read my signature. Understanding that is easy, it is actually putting into practice by loving sacrificially that is a lot harder. It is all about our hearts.

The ambiguity involves our religious beliefs.

He has told you, O man, what is good ; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God.

Micah 6:8

The Bible remains the only book for humans not only to get to know God at the explicit level, but also for a said standard to convey such that a said final judgment can be carried out legitimately.

So from the perspective of how God 'published' the book, that is disregarding how humans interpret the Bible, God has to maintain the consistency of its contents such that the contents 'published' to humans 2000 years ago remain the same contents 'published' to humans today. This can only be done through a serious canonization and the existing of an earthly authority - the church to prevent further editing out of human wills.

The above is the necessity for salvation to be done out of a said final judgment. Apostle's creed remains the baseline for humans to reckon a legitimate church. As for 'correct' interpretation not to lead you into falling short of the salvation, you definitely need the guidance from the Holy Spirit. In the end, those shall be saved will be saved this way.

God calling us to love our neighbors and enemies and to leave vengeance onto His hand because we can't tell precisely whether our enemies are the saved or not. We can't tell whether they are our brothers and sisters or not. That's why we have to leave it to God to judge.

Eradicating the Canaanites on the other hand is a one time authentication from God to Moses who can establish a face-to-face contact with God. The OT Bible said clearly that the way God chose to talk with Moses is not the same way He talked to other prophets using dreams and visions.

God knows clearly that the Canaanites are the dead who will eradicate the Jews to cease God's salvation message to reach today's humans. It's God's job to ensure that His message of salvation/judgment will reach later humans for more souls to be saved. If the Canaanites are not stopped, more humans souls will be lost.

Our morality is count human lives in terms of physical death. God's morality is to count human lives in terms of souls plus that everyone will have to die one way or another with the purpose or our living to choose God (or not) to be saved (or not).

Not sure I totally agree. The Bible is in my belief Gods word to humanity, but reading the book itself is not the only way people get saved. And I dont worry about a final judgement nor do I preach about it. Such information does not help possible new believers.
God has to maintain the consistency of its contents such that the contents 'published' to humans 2000 years ago remain the same contents 'published' to humans today. I believe that humans have done as good a job as possible in preserving the essential message.

{we}you definitely need the guidance from the Holy Spirit.
Agree.
God calling us to love our neighbors and enemies and to leave vengeance onto His hand because we can't tell precisely whether our enemies are the saved or not. We can't tell whether they are our brothers and sisters or not.
Its easier to assume that everyone is in the same boat rather than trying to judge who is "saved" or not. Treat everyone the same.
Eradicating the Canaanites on the other hand...
I believe it had to be done, but I wont blame God totally for it. Humans decided that God told them to do it.
It's God's job to ensure that His message of salvation/judgment will reach later humans for more souls to be saved.
So I suggest we not worry about how it gets done.
