Hi all, new here, so this looked like a good place to post.
Have to say, Monoist.
As far as I can see, reality is contiguous, and separation is only a perception. I'd lean more towards Taoist thinking than Buddhist, though I probably misunderstand both.
As far as I can tell "parallel" dimensions would still be part of the same reality regardless of wether we can percieve them or not.
I don't think "outside" the universe is a valid concept, and even if it is, there's no way to ever tell, since the universe is (or seems to be) a closed thermodynamic system, nothing goes in or out.
I think "mind" is an emergent property of matter, and is dependent on it's matter for existence.
I think philosophy is fun and profitable, if not in a finacial way.
Hope the post wasn't too long

emergent properties
Like "mind", "information" is an emergent property of material systems.
Or rather, "information" is the name given to the abstract concept which is correspondent, to an emergent property of material objects within a system, which may affect the operation of the system.(I think)
There's no point in looking to the DI for understanding of materialist or naturalist philosophies they don't understand them, nor do they want to.
Much of "reality" contains such, if they were a problem for naturalist/materialist/mechanist philosophies, then these philosophies would have been forgotten long ago.
On the other hand if you're a Dualist, can you point out a single example of the second component of reeality?
Matter and energy are one thing, what else is there?
(Please don't say mind, it's already included as a property of matter, and unless there's reason to believe otherwise I (for one) won't.)
