EVERYONE IS ALWAYS CRITICISIZING THE BIBLE AND HOW YOU SHOULD BELIEVE IF ITS BEEN TRANSLATED SO MANY TIMES. BUT THE BIBLE IS ONLY A BLESSING TO THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN IT.EVERYTHING THAT HAS HAPPENED HAS BEEN FORETOLD IN THE BIBLE. FOR INSTANCES, MATTHEW CH.24 IT STATES THAT THERE WILL BE RUMOURS OF WAR,FAMINES,PESTILENCES,NATION RISING AGAINST NATION,KINGDON AGAINST KINGDOM.ALL THIS IS HAPPENING NOW LIKE IN SRI LANKA,AFRICA,NEWORLEANS, ALL THEM ARE SUFFERING CUZ THERE IS NO FOOD.AND THE WASR TOO, LOOK WHAT IT IS DOING.US AGAINST IRAQ. NATION AGAINST NATION.BUT IT WILL ALL PAY OFF IN THE END.IF YOU TRULY LOVE GOD AND FOLLOW HIS WORD, YOU WILL BE GRANTED WITH EVERLASTING LIFE.

Look at your keyboard. You'll notice a collection of letters - top row starts qwert. Next row down is asdfg.
Start at the A. Directly to the left of the A you'll see a key marked "Caps Lock". On most keyboards, when this button is depressed there will be a light that indicates that it is on. While this button is down, all the letters you type will come out in capital letters. So for example, hello would read as HELLO. Generally, no one will read a post that contains all capital letters, except maybe to respond with instructions on how to use the caps lock key. Hopefully you have found this both informative and helpful.

Personally I believe that there was once in the world's history a being known as Jesus Christ. Inasmuch as I believe that the Bible is a book from God, doubtless, the personages of the Bible exist, including of course Jesus Christ. If you may read, there are passages in the Bible ascribed to as words of Christ Jesus. Have you remembered that Jesus Christ gave prophecies? His 4 main prophecies are a. False prophets (Matthew 24:4-5, 11, 24) b. wars/ rumours of wars (Matthew 24:6) c. Earthquakes, pestilences, famines (Matthew 24:7) c. Abundance of Iniquity (Matthew 24:12) d. Preaching of the Gospel (Matthew 24:14). Are these all visible in our times?

Are these all visible in our times? In our times, and in every time. When have wars or rumors of wars not troubled the human race? When have we been free of hunger and famine? Iniquity is the very essence of the human condition, and your religion has been preaching the Gospel for 2000 years. In other words I'm not impressed by a list of "predictions" that turns out to be the things you could count on being true at literally every point in history.

Hi, Enton, rule one in the prophecy game is 'Keep it vague.' Now if Jesus had said 'You will be burdened in the future with a klutz named G.W.Bush', hell, I might even go back to being a believer.

He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone's hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers." That's talking about Ishmael, the father of the Arabs when Abraham tried to have kids through his servant Hagar. While it doesn't constitute prophecy, the description is accurate. "Damn. And this shows that we are not evolving morally and also that the good news of Jesus Christ is the only cure for the human "condition". Iniquity is the very essence of the human condition, and your religion has been preaching the Gospel for 2000 years. I will say that many "christians" have themselves been very poor advertisments for Christ. I know that I am an idiot at times...if I were God, I would have "fired" me. I could argue with Him and blame myself on the human "condition", but He would surely remind me that He has provided a way out.

Brian writes: Logically, I don't. I have known a few "wild donkeys" in my day, however...so it is a product of the human condition. How do you know that Ishmael was a wild donkey of a man whose hand was against everyone etc? I will say that personally, I don't see America as the "good guys" and the Islam as the "bad guys." There is bad in both cultures.
NIV writes: Jersus had elaborated that there were really only two commandments which covered all of them. Matt 19:16-17-- Now a man came up to Jesus and asked, "Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?""Why do you ask me about what is good?" Jesus replied. "There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, obey the commandments." It all boils down to surrender to the Holy Spirit. Can we dare say that some fundamentalists (in any country) think that they are obeying the Holy Spirit and instead have made a god within their own minds...thus captives of the "other spirit"? I would say so...and this certainly includes many American fundies. This message has been edited by Phatboy, 09-14-2005 03:00 PM

I am beginning to agree with Jar more and more about how many atheists will get to heaven before the fundies....God works in mysterious ways! Many have been "saved" who never saw a Bible!
