Faith I do not make anything up! But if that is how you cope with it so be it.See in a few minutes we are heading out to enjoy another sunset, so tell next time.
Sometimes I don't know why we'd rather live than die, we look up towards the sky for answers to our lives. We may get some solutions but most just pass us by, don't want your absolution cause I can't make it right

I'm not negative at all. I said the negative things as a response to all the sentimental things. I was trying to balance it.
When you are thinking about how awesome are the flight of birds and so forth, one must also think about all the suffering in the world. Unless you think there is no suffering in the world? Edited by robinrohan, : No reason given.

All I'm saying HERE, however, is that I agree with Robin that human nature seems to have been designed for a lot more than this life offers. It's something some may recognize in themselves no matter what their beliefs Human nature wasn't designed for anything. Human nature is an accident.

When you are thinking about how awesome are the flight of birds and so forth, one must also think about all the suffering in the world. Why? Do you have some sort of quota system to meet of nice thoughts vs. nasty thoughts you have to meet? Sometimes I think about the great stuff, sometimes about the shit stuff. I see no need to make a conscious effort to balance the two. Oops! Wrong Planet

I see no need to make a conscious effort to balance the two. I just mean in one's worldview, if one has one. One need not have one. But I got one, and believers have one, and so do atheists.

Yes, and no. Human nature was not designed by an 'intelligent designer', but the filter process known as 'natural selection' is a 'design method'... that could be could 'unintelligent design'.

that could be could 'unintelligent design'. Sounds about right: stupid design. "tale told by an idiot," etc.

But if it is indicative of a higher purpose...Thats presupposing there is higher purpose beyond this life, which is acceptable i guess. Bears more thinking upon for myself... Doesn't "presuppose" it, it's an inference from it. If we seem to ourselves to have capacities and desires that outstrip reality, that is what suggests this higher purpose. I'm not sure how to respond because i don't think i understand enough of what you mean. What capacities and desires outstrip reality that thus suggests a higher purpose?

Even if you have a world view why must you have a balanced what at all? What does a balanced world view contribute to a person, in your opinion?

Sounds reasonable within the context of Christianity. May I ask you to clarify what we are meant to be within the context of Christianity?

The Truth or the truth? I am uncertain how you mean truth at this point. One Truth, many truths, your singular truth, George's singular truth?

Human nature wasn't designed for anything. Human nature is an accident. Well, it *was* designed, very specifically designed, but that wasn't what I was talking about. I may be imposing my own ideas on yours though, I'm aware of that. I get carried away with anybody's saying anything I like and agree with around here. What seemed to apply, however, was your appreciation of the disconnect between human imagination and reality, the "vacuity" and boredom and habituation and so. Edited by Faith, : No reason given.

These concepts of joy and suffering, i'm not sure i understand how you mean that?
Do you mean, oh look theres some suffering people? Or oh look there are some happy people? What does it mean to be in a state of joy or suffering?
