All I can say is that it must be nice to have no atheist denominations to take the blame and the responsibility when one of you goes awry. Are you kidding? We get accused of supporting Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot, Mao Tse-Tung, and every other secular wack job out there. Talk about lumping everyone in the same category. Unless you're talking about Dawkins, and there are quite a few atheists who don't agree with him. However, I'm not sure the situations are analogous.

It has absolutely nothing to do with sin or the law (although I hope the Law will jump on many of them).
Being ignorant of Science, Theology or Christianity is neither criminal nor sinful. Correct! But it is just plain IGNORANT and ignorance can be cured. What is even worse is that the Christian Churches today seem to be trying to increase ignorance instead of curing it. Aslan is not a Tame Lion

When Jesus said that, He was talking about actually stoning somebody.(Why is it that you can't see when something is literal? ) He was not saying we have to be without sin to speak out against wrong-doing, He was just saying "Don't kill the wrongdoers." He also said:

Trinity Baptist Church writes: While this meeting might contain some aspects of a good purpose, it is an ecumenical gathering of Charismatics, Southern Baptists, and Lutherans. This kind of conglomeration is wrong, and it is never right to do wrong, in order to do right. In the name of good causes, Jerry Falwell has compromised with the Mooneys, Roman Catholics, liberals, and Southern Baptists. He has said nice things about the Pope, and other assorted heretics, and he has had the immoral Senator Ted Kennedy speak for him. Here you are. A nice example of 'christians' speaking out in opposition of Falwell.

I do agree of course. To educate, you must first convince these people to view the Bible differently, which is very difficult. For most of them their view of the Bible, false as it may be, is the key to their very existance as a group. If indeed there is a Satan, this is but another Trump Card, a success in creating another mindless cult which will follow its leader to Nowhere Land.

Say What?
You do know that is not Trinity Baptist Church (actually the one in Lubbock) speaking but rather E. L. Bynum? Aslan is not a Tame Lion

Why not give us a link so we can examine it?
Speaking of which, I was just curious about the whole "silent majority" as people like you often refer to the bulk of christianity. I decided to type in different search categories in google. Here are the following results.
Anti-gay Christian Groups gives top results 1 - 100 of about 46,300 English pages.
Pro-gay Christian Groups gives top results of 1-7 of 17 english pages.
christians anti-same-sex marriage gives top page of 1-100 out of 14,400 English pages.
Christians pro-same-sex marriage gives top page of 1-100 out of 708 English pages. I have been searching for any evidence of this "silent majority" for quite some time now but haven't been able to find any evidence for it. Where would you suggest I should look?

Yes, sorry, I am not so savvy with links and such. It was intended to show that Christians DO speak out, about everything and anything, but more in the form of internal bitching and superiority complexes. I am not exempting the RCC from this either, but everywhere there are complaints which in effect gear more towards seperation than any unity of the kind that could 'loudly' oppose anything.

Where would you suggest I should look? I never mentioned any silent majority, but if there is one, it is not on the web. Just kidding, of course. If you want to bring up issues of sex, I believe the numbers reflected by your sites are pretty indicitive of Christian majority. I hope that I have made my position clear; if there are people who are gay currently living in the world, then I must defend their rights as HUMANS whether or not I believe they are sinning. I further do not know if they have sinned or not, as my understanding of the gay men and women I know does not lead me to think they have 'consciously abandoned morality', or 'wantonly desired destruction'. All I know is that FOR ME this is not the right choice.

FYI, our brothers and sisters of the NT were called Christians, so I consider it a great honor as they did to be called Christian. nator writes: So, when 50 Christian leaders from 50 different denominations see Jerry Falwell on the television and have strong feelings against what he is saying in the name of all Christians, what is preventing them from loudly and publicly denouning him? Falwell, like all Christians speaks his mind in his own name. He does not claim to represent all Christians. Much of what he says does set well with most Biblical fundamentalists, however. I take issue with some of his stuff, but don't see anything deserving of strong feelings against him for what he believes and teaches. Many have been educated, helped and blessed by the man's life work and legacy.
