Americans made the right choice. I think that the next four years will be as challenging as any in our history, and I believe that we as a nation will continue to have tough economic times ahead, as well as many moral challenges that also involve finances.
The war needs to end. It has gone on too long and costs too much in terms of money and American lives.
We need to get our financial house in order. There will be higher prices, more competitive jobs, and a higher cost of living. Here in Colorado, voters defeated the Right To Work amendment that would have decimated union wages. I supported defeating that measure, and I think that we have a very pro-labor president. Obama will have his hands full, however. Like F.D.R. at the beginning of the Great Depression, Obama will be defined ultimately by the decisions that he makes on behalf of the American people for the common good.
