The recent Tea Partyist comments make me just sad. It is just totally incomprehensible how totally and completely incompassionate they are.
Arguments against HPV-vaccine are just evil - so utterly evil. Now the latest comments by Ron Paul about letting an uninsured person just die and some of the audience cheering that!! Living in a Scandinavian country with completely universal healthcare and high level of unreligiousness my heart just sometimes breaks for the American people. Its like...if you just had what we have...society taking unconditionally care of those who cannot take care of themselves, and also the rest of us if needed.

Mr Perrys inability to form coherent answers regarding the teen pregnancy issue was just baffling. I mean he is not that smart but come on...he seemed like genuine dimwit (apologies to any dimwit who the comparison might insult).

As a (fellow) foreigner I am just in awe. How can the GOP produce such a huge amount of idiocy to make a pick from. From an European standpoint the "defining" issues in American politics are mildly put curious.
I mean honestly - would you really be willing to give nuke codes to a guy (or a gal) who hears voices AND acts upon them? Why is hearing the voice of Sauron...sorry, judeo-christian God somehow better?

Wow, Newt is blaming both John Kerry and Mitt Romney for being able to speak....French. What next - Santorum can do calculus and Ron Paul makes killer pancakes.
How frikking clueless does one have to be when being able to do something useful can be turned against you. Mitt Romney lambasted in attack ad for speaking French - BBC News Edited by saab93f, : typo

Not directly related to primaries but via a candidate.
http://gawker.com/...dead-atheist-father+in+law-to-mormonism Mitt may be the best of the candidates in many respects but him being a mormon is only few whisps away from being a moron. I honestly believe that all religions are unnecessary crutches but of them scientology and mormonism are just unbelievably (pun intended) imbecile. Edited by saab93f, : typo

"But the US seems to be in a particular right wing frenzy at the moment. The "middle ground" seems more to the right than anywhere else in the developed world. And the two party system seems to be moving ever "rightwards"."
That is something that has mad me puzzled far some time. Id say that we in Europe do not have a single large political party that is as far-right as the Democrats over there. That tells a lot about the Republicans. Another thing that Ive been thinking a lot is how on earth can Newt honestly start campaigning for Romney against Obama after all this hate and mudslinging. I mean if Newt has been trying to prove the American public what a weasel and lier Romney has been, how can such a crook be worth the Presidency in his mind then?

The Republican primaries have been...entertaining for a foreigner. In my country we just elected the President for next 6 years and the campaign was actually very good.
We have a two-step election (technically if a candidate would get over 50% in the 1st round, he/she would be elected without the need for a 2nd round). In the 1st round there were 8 candidates and the top two battled in round two. The two finalists were a conservative (by our standards) ex-finance minister and a gay green-party ex-minister of the environment. By "your" standards even Mr Niinist (who won)would likely be labelled a communist. Living in a multi-party country I cannot help but wonder whether two-party system necessarily twists everything into black/white when in reality neither of those really exist.

Once again Id like to re-iterate my question. Why is it that your politics SEEM so black/white. Ive just read a few comments from cbsnews website regarding Sanitoriums victories and Im...baffled.
The amount of hate and distortion that is shown not just towards Pres. Obama but to other GOP candidates is unbelievable and I reckon that cbs aint nowhere near the worst. Id venture a guess that not one mainstream politician in Europe is as far right as your Dems yet rhetorics like marxist, communist etc. fly all over. Is it the "curse" of bi-party system? Does the inner coherency require vilification of the other and more or less describing the other as evil

"Let me help you put it in context. In Minnesota, where I'm from, 50,000 of the state's 5 million people participated in the primary (actually I think it was a caucus, I'm not sure). In 2008, Minnesota gave 1.2 million votes to McCain, which means that something on the order of about 5% of Minnesota's Republicans bothered to participate in the primary. It doesn't actually count for anything because it doesn't allocate any delegates."
MN is pretty much the only hands-on experience I have on the US. Aeons ago I spent a summer there and liked it a lot. Then again I was 18 then so little did I know or could tell by the way people behaved or spoke. Theres a lot I only understood later. Anyway, the more Ive learnt the more I "hate" the way neo-cons have taken the country I fell almost in love with hostage. I sincerely hope Prez Obama gets 2nd term because hes made it easier to like "you" for what you really are - a generous and friendly nation filled with hope and innovation.

Im not sure wheter Mr Morris backs Santorium but this piece of news does fit well with Friesss comments. Things like this make me somewhat sad. How effing lost can some people be.

quote: Yeah, it is just obnoxious when those uppity girls are taking their future and their destinies to their own hands. With the risk of sounding condescending towards "morally conservative" women, I honestly believe that without the patriarchal "We know better" -attitude the world would be a better place. I mean, would you as a man be willing to lead your life based on age-old rules set 100 percent by others than your own gender? Women have to. Men are not forced to cover their heads, men are not told to remain quiet and men are not forced to carry the result of rape within their bodies. Sometimes I am ashamed to be a member of mandom. I totally despise anyone claiming superiority over another human being, be it anothers religion, race, gender or sexual identity. Santorum and his backers are just those people - shining beacons of righteousness just because they are conservative christians.

quote: I was personally delighted (not really) when Average-Mitt told Nascar fans that he does not visit the races that often but he has friends who OWN teams. Just like when he was trying to woo average auto-industry workers by saying that his wife drives a COUPLE of Cadillacs...

quote: Precisely my point. Mitt is probably so disconnected from "normal" life that he does not even understand that most likely everyone does not have NASCAR team owners as friends or houses here and there and everywhere. Apparently he has had a golden spoon permanently stuck for his entire life. Yes,he has become successful but your average American dream of rags to riches he aint. From affluent to very affluent perhaps.

I friend of mine once said that you Americans make it a tough job to keep on loving you.
Sanatorium is nothing short of scary - Gingrich probably even more so but fortunately it seems that his kind of lunacy is not that popular.
