But now you find yourself able to believe in talking snakes, global floods, ADAM AND EVE, pillars of salt, loaves and fishes, heaven and hell, angels, devils etc ETC. And all this is historically true?
It's interesting watching a DELUSION grow.
And you believe that Neil Armstrong walked on the moon.
And an ape gave birth to a human who all came from a rock by accident by a 100 trillion lucky mistakes.
How many atheists does it take to change a light bulb ?
None. They figure that if they wait long enough the light bulb will change itself.

Yet another utterly stupid misrepresentation of anyone other than Creationists position.
Humans are apes. No one thinks all living things came from a rock by accident or lucky mistakes.
Before you post more really stupid stuff it might help if you tried to actually learn about the subject.
And once again, it seems you are simply trying to change the subject, palm the pea, con the rubes and sell more snake oil. Your misrepresentation has nothing to do with the topic.

Re: Back to the End Times
What do you have to contribute about ANY kind of end times or climax of world history?
Contribute something about what you think world history is culminating in.

Oh hello, are you saying that he didn't?

No I don't believe that. For the obvious reason that no-one but the willfully ignorant think that's what science says about it.
How many atheists does it take to change a light bulb?
None. They figure that if they wait long enough the light bulb will change itself.
It fits your fundamentalism to think that people who don't share your fantasies have equally daft fantasies of their own doesn't it?
So you engage in this childishness of making up ludicrous stuff that you say we believe rather than engage with what we actually believe. Please leave the playground and join the adults.

Re: Back to the End Times
The topic is Christianity and the End Times.
As a Christian I don't think there will ever be any End Times during the period humans exist unless Fundamentalist Theists actually cause the total destruction of humanity.
I do think right now the greatest threat to humanity is Fundamental Christianity since that is the only group who actually have the capability of destroying mankind and who seem to be actively working towards that goal by choosing to join the Christian Cult of Ignorance and Dishonesty.
As long as there is a large body of (particularly American) Fundamentalist Christians that oppose Science, oppose Evolution, that base their worldview on Dogma as opposed to Evidence we will live under the threat of destruction.
There will never be a "Second Coming" as marketed by the Christian Cult of Ignorance and Dishonesty, never be an Rapture" or "End Times" as they try to market, but should they ever achieve political power they certainly can create the destruction of all humanity and much if not all life on Earth.

Re: Back to the End Times
Despite my portents of a possible soon-coming Rapture I've certainly had in mind that I could be wrong about the timing, but when I read paranoid crazy stuff like this I have to admit I fervently wish it would happen as soon as possible and dispel such nonsense. If we're gone you can't blame us for the disasters that follow.
How you get anything intentionally destructive out of our end times theology I don't know but I guess anything that vilifies us fundamentalists is possible these days. We're probably the only reason the world hasn't already self-destructed a long time ago.

Re: Back to the End Times
The End Times theology is simply another example of the total disconnect from reality and evidence based decision making that is the primary defining characteristic of Fundamentalism whether Christian or Muslim or Hindu or Buddhist or Atheist. They are all the very same threat.

Why do you think God called out to Adam - "Where are you ?" ?
The previous fellowship was lost and degrading more and more. Separation.
Well, that makes no sense at all. It was God who asked Adam where he was. Are you saying that God didn't know? If Adam was separated from God, then maybe he couldn't find God, but you're suggesting that God was diminished by "the Fall".

Another dumb response.
God knew where Adam was. He was giving Adam a chance for Adam to consider where he was - running and hiding from his Creator with Whom he previously had sweet fellowship.
You never saw a parent ask a child something like "What are you DOING?"
OR "Where are you?" when the parent knows that the child knows it should be elsewhere from where it is ?

Re: Back to the End Times
What do you think about the objections about believing in a talking snake Genesis.
He's right that snakes don't usually speak. Duh.
Interested is seeing how I would respond to that complaint ?
It probably would be wasted on the likes of Tangled-up.
You know, after seeing videos of the tsunami sweeping through Japan and Indonesian washing clean away houses, cars, buildings, heavy equipment, ships, and everything else in its path ... etc like nothing across the landscape, I thought to myself -
"Hard time believing in a Flood as Noah describes?? Witnessing this modern day tsunami sure makes such devastation plausible. "
