You're the one who asked the question. I answered it: If God was separated from Adam, then God had to be the one doing the separating. God was the one with the power.
God knew where Adam was. jaywill writes:
See above. If the parent knows where the child is, HE is the one doing the separating. HE is the one who is responsible for maintaining the relationship.
You never saw a parent ask a child something like "What are you DOING?"OR "Where are you?" when the parent knows that the child knows it should be elsewhere from where it is ? jaywill writes:
It's a poor teacher who blames his students. After being away, I find the old crowd has gotten more rather than less ignorant. And our geese will blot out the sun.

Its noted that you never answered the question.
Who in history do you find more impressive then Jesus of Nazareth? Its noted that you sarcastically danced around it rather than directly supplying an example.

quote: But that isn’t an example. There’s no lie there at all.
quote: Which is quite true. Bit from the fact that the fruit is not a poison as Eve apparently feared and because at that point she could still have eaten from the Tree if Life and lived forever.

quote: Not totally. I know you're permissive to the Nth degree. But some of us realize that behind the Universe is a Perfect God Who cannot fellowship with sin unless the sinner is redeemed and justified. You imagine no God.Or you imagine an imperfect God. I understand Perfection lies behind the creation of all things.God God being a goodness above which is impossible, will not be one with iniquity, sin, transgression. The beauty of the rest of the Bible is that rather than give up on man God had a plan of eternal salvation, eternal redemption, and reconciliation. Some of view the ultimate Life as a permissive and sentimental Barney the Dinosaur type. Some of us who read the Bible with understanding realize the holiness and glory of a Perfect Ultimate Creator - absolutely perfect and ultimate in righteousness. That is one who did not impose Himself on His creature but gifted him with a free will to choose God out of want and love. Maybe you'll never get it. Edited by jaywill, : No reason given.

quote: It certainly proves you wrong. They were able to work at doing right andonly their human limitations made their attemp inferior to God’s (and if God couldn’t do better than two ignorant humans who had never made a stitch of clothing in their lives it would be a poor show indeed)
quote: Of course I didn’t say that.

For that question to work, you'd have to demonstrate that Jesus was historic. Maybe He was but you'd have difficulty demonstrating it. Who in history do you find more impressive then Jesus of Nazareth? He's probably more impressive than Holden Caulfield or Tom Joad. And our geese will blot out the sun.

Any of you wise guys want to offer YOUR view of where history is headed?
You sit along the sidelines sneering at the Bible. Okay, do you want to offer your view of a climax to the world ? Artificial Intelligence maybe - replacing us all ? Taking our problems to some other planet and giving it another go ? You're allowed to use your imagination.Where do YOU see the world headed ?

quote: It isn’t.
quote: Oh it’s not about helping you, it’s about countering your lies.
quote: It’s not really there, though, is it ? Eve thought the fruit was good to eat and wanted the understanding it brought but that is hardly wanting to be apart from God. And I note you didn’t bother to quote anything about uniting with God’s enemy. Indeed man only had to die because God was afraid of Man attaining immortality as well (3:22-4)

Speaking for myself, I'm only sneering at your abuse of the Bible. I quite like the Bible and I wish you did too.

The phrase, "not with a bang but a whimper," comes to mind. Okay, do you want to offer your view of a climax to the world ?And our geese will blot out the sun.

I admit I haven't given it much thought, but it got the attention it deserved. Now perhaps you'll answer the question I asked you. Did Neil Armstrong walk on the moon? Jaywill writes: Any of you wise guys want to offer YOUR view of where history is headed? History isn't headed anywhere. For obvious reasons.
You sit along the sidelines sneering at the Bible. Okay, do you want to offer your view of a climax to the world ? What purpose would making shit up serve? All we know is that the earth will die when the sun dies or we collided with an asteroid or some such. In the meantime we have to concern ourselves with not killing the earth ourselves.
Where do YOU see the world headed ? Continuing strengthening of our institutions, improving health and longevity, reducing irrational belief systems, reduced poverty and disease and so on. In other words a continuance of human progress - with lots of backwards steps.Je suis Charlie. Je suis Ahmed. Je suis Juif. Je suis Parisien. I am Mancunian. I am Brum. I am London.I am Finland. Faith writes: That is a very dangerous lie you keep repeating. Yet no one has ever shown any evidence that what I post is not the truth and there is overwhelming evidence that Christianity was spread primarily by force; physical, economic and political force. Other religions were banned, other peoples were forced to leave, other customs and languages banned, sacred sites defaced or stolen. Every religion of the New World was destroyed.

You exaggerate immensely even though the supposed force you are talking about isn't even Christianity but Roman Catholicism. And though you claim evidence you offer none, as usual. There is no genocide in anything you said anyway since no whole tribes or ethnic groups are involved. For the most part true Christian belief simply supplanted the witchcraft and other pagan religions that preceded it when former practitioners became Christians and rejected their old ways. That is generally true wherever Christianity goes, all over the world. Effacing the old religions is what the new believers do, the ones who practiced the old religion and came to recognize that it is demonic. Tribal religions are simply given up by those who learn the truth of Christianity, no force needed.
