I don't know of any of the many fundi churches I've been in over the years who would refuse ministry to gays. The example you cited is extraordinary.
Jerry Falwell, for example made it clear that he had a compasion for gay people, so much so that he had a ministry purposefully for them. He put it that he loved sinners but hated sin.
Jesus exemplified this as well when dealing with the accusers of the woman caught in adultry. They wanted her stoned but he said something like, "go and sin no more."
