Back to original focus
Might I remind you of the essence of this topic that you yourself started:
Straggler writes:
is the notion of an Age of reason a utopian dream (or nightmare - depending on your perspective) destined to failure because of man’s innate proclivity, need even, to believe in unfalsifiable nonsense of one sort or another? Or is the current situation a temporary blip in mankind's inevitable progress down the road of rationality and reason?
Lets stick to this basic question.

Giving This A Rest
Im giving this one a rest, allowing all participants to read back twenty posts or so and try and coordinate your thoughts in support of (or against) the topic. Sometimes I think that some of us (occasionally myself included) tend to get caught up in our own thoughts and blather on without pausing to acknowledge the contributions and opinions of others. I'll reopen this one in a day or so...please read what others have said and slooow down!
