Okay. Thermodynamics is the study of how heat moves. You know... Thermo means heat, dynamics means movement.
You're talking about some things written about a mythical figure that, from context, I guess you believe in. There is some vague mention of some mysterious "power" moving back and forth but it doesn't seem to be heat. It appears to be some undefined magical force that can heal people. So, no, your little fairy tale has nothing to do with Thermodynamics.

I don't know about Mr. Gore's proposition breaking any of the three laws, but I know your idea of an eternally existing god certainly does not.
Your "god" is mythology. It is not real. Something with no objective existence cannot be contrary to any physical laws. Congratulations Buz. You're exactly right about this one. Nothing you have said in any way violates the three laws. This message has been edited by mikehager, 12-09-2004 08:28 PM

As to your "egukating", well, hope springs eternal...
Think what you will about the big bang. I'm done trying to educate the creationists here. Bottom line, you believe to the depths of your soul in a lie, and for that I feel sorry for you. I know this won't help you, but I am also done tolerating the ignorance of creationists. Your idea is doomed from the start, depending as it does on a myth.

Of course you don't and of course they aren't. Show me how Jesus stored and generated power first. Then you might have something. But you know... you can't. Why? Because he didn't.
I'm utterly sick of creationists, as I said earlier, and this is a good illustration of why. Blind, groundless, arrogant assurance in combination with the inability to reason beyond their own mindset and a grand disregard for facts is no way to go through life. The thickness of the rose colored glasses you must be wearing is astounding if you see this exchange as going in your favor. Applying science to your mythology is just dumb. If you want to say something involving science and the powers of a divine Christ, then you're going to have to prove the divinty of Christ first. Because, and you would do well to keep this interesting fact in mind... most of the people in the world don't agree that Christ is divine. I know that the number of people who believe a thing has no bearing on if it is a fact, but your contention is by no means a commonly accepted one. It is a distinctly minority position. So, if you intend to discuss Christ's divine powers, you're first going to have to show that they exist. Do that, Bunkie, and we have something to talk about. Otherwise, stop wasting everyone's time.

...the creationist ideology operates within these scientific laws. Wow... I almost have not the words. Creationist myth works within any scientific framework? No, it does not. If you want to show how it is, produce some verifiable facts about any of it. One iota of observable fact about this infinte god of yours and we can start discussing it as science, otherwise you are spouting nonsense.

You have handed out no punishment and you may rely upon the fact that we are not friends.
I am sticking to the thread. I am pointing out, and you are stupidly ignoring, the fact that your core assumption, that Christ or the Christian god had some sort of "power", is not true. That stops you right there, if only you could see it. Sadly, a common side effect of your kind of beliefs is such blindness. Prove that this Christ person existed, that he did the things you claim. and then we can address the means that was used to do it. Do that and we'll have something to address. Right now all we have is your rather dimwitted and unfounded personal opinion.

I am completely on topic, and you can duck and run if you like. It isn't unexpected. I still haven't heard you support your position with anything other then unfounded assertions of personal opinion and repitition. Can you do anything else?
Again, in case you missed it the first few times, defend the core question I have posed, if you can. Prove that this "Christ" person has any "power" that may or may not conform to the laws of thermodynamics. Prone that this god you speak of has any "power", infinite or otherwise. Till you do that, you're simply blowing smoke. I have tried civility with your ilk and gotten nothing for my trouble but aggravation, so, when you show the use of reason, I will start showing you civility.

Okay. The work of fiction tells how the fictional (or at best fictionalized) character transferred some undefined "power". You have succesfully proven that. Excellent work!
That, of course, means nothing. This message has been edited by mikehager, 12-11-2004 10:27 PM

Now, Buz, you know that's abslutely untrue and a charge better directed at you. Shame on you. Doesn't your mythology instruct you not to bear false witness?
You could address substantive matters by taking up my question. You won't, of course, because you know the ultimate futility of your position. Still, hope springs eternal, so I will ask again. You have tried to bring science (in the form of the laws of thermodynamics) into myth and into one myth in particular. So, let us apply the rules of science. What is the "power" that Christ used? Precisely how did it transfer? How did it affect it's healing? Please, let us know the answers. Or, because you cannot answer, you could cry that it is off topic and refuse to answer. I wonder which you will do?

It's good to hear you admit it. Now... are you next willing to admit that since you cannot answer questions so basic to scientific inquiry about the alleged healing power of Christ as it relates to thermodynamics that your entire subject was an error?

It is my contention that since Buz brought in the scientific by talking about thermodynamics, then a determination how the energy in guestion works it's form, etc. would be appropriate Those facts are clearly dependent on the question of it's existence.
If that is considered by the admins to be out of line, then I will withdraw and let the unfouned assertions made my Buz pass unchallenged.

Your the one that mentioned scintific principles, you goal moving son of a gun, you.
I am done. You are entitled to believe what you want, and if that includes thermodynamically correct deities that's fine. Just don't expect anyone else to take such nonsense seriously.

Now there you go again. We've talked about this and I thought you had learned a little something. You're bearing false witness again, Buz. I know the big words can be confusing, but that means lying. Your mythology has a direct injunction against doing that, right there in it's so-called "Ten Commandments".
Hypocrisy is no way to champion a set of beliefs, Buz.
