Anything Divine in the Bible?

slaves worked in exchange for food and lodging...same way we do todaya hebrew slave could have his whole family fed and housed which is why many chose to be slaves.of course im not condoning it, but i dont believe that God condoned it either. People are going to do what they want to do. Did God force anyone to make people into slaves??? nojust look at the teachings and words of Jesus Christ and you'll see that he had the mind of God...love your neighbor as yourself...love is the dominating nature of God, Jesus clearly showed this

i do see how it may be contradictorywhen you read the accounts of war in the old testament, it does appear that wayGod is said to have love as his main attribute...but he also has 'Justice' and at times, as is seen in the OT, his justice has moved him to act in behalf of the enemies of his peoplebut what would you rather? a God who sits back and does nothing when his people are being attacked, or a God who is willing to stand up and put his power to work in behalf of his people?i know which i would rather.
