Re: Three Major Complaints
being that the gospels are entirely built to be political, i could see it as being nothing more than propaganda, the thing is its hard to seperate the man jesus from the built up jesus that the bible presents.
just to ask how do you know that the two linages are for differient purposes? prahaps one of the authors copyed the other since they do not resemble each other at all except in general facts
I'm thinking this line of thought is just to make up for the fact that christians can't answer it so they make something up

Re: was jeconiah a king?
having david twice looks more like the author was trying to come up with a number he liked, rather than having anything to do with god, but saying god did this is basically saying god is lying or being deceptive, rather than facing the reality that man wrote the book and added things that they wanted!
If you say "No" I will not bother to show you the exact same kind of acounting in the Old Testament.
yes the whole 40 years thing, it shows they had a thing for 40 years, numberology was a common belief, then and now

Re: While we are here...
I love this cop-out, if the text negates the fact that something can't work if it is material just shift it to the spiritual
The whole piont is that the people of Israel never realised that the kingdom the Messiah would bring was a spiritual one. They expected a material king.
of course they wouldn't expect a spiritual king, its not scriptual, they expected a military leader, which they didn't get in the form of jesus
Instead they get a spiritual king who wants to free them of their biggest enemy, sin, but they fail to figure it out
they already have ways to free them of sin, its detailed in the torah
Jesus is a God of love.
could have fooled me
He came quietly into this world by taking a human form and took the leadership in order for the world to have forgiveness. The true salvation of a nation is spiritual and not material.
he failed it since he never took up the king-ship of david.
just the same moving of the meanings,"well it didn't show up here so it must be somewhere else"
