is there anyone who can testify much about the church? cause i am not at ease talking with the members in our stake.they all seem so plastic and hypocrite.
that's kind of sad. i've only been to one lds church, and the member were some of the most down to earth and genuinely nice people i've ever met.
but keep in mind that faith, religion, and church are three different things. you can have faith without a religion, and a religion without a church. just because your church or organization sucks doesn't mean much about god.

Re: Operative Mechanism of Faith
Thus, ALL you theistic-evos (out there) don't have this faith. You are very anti-Christ while being pro-Christian.
doesn't follow, and i take insult.

I have talked with Mormons too and read the BOM and realized how the only thing Christian about it is what it takes from the Bible.
having date a mormon, i talked to a few missionaries. a lot of their philosophies lined up very well the christian beliefs i already had that didn't fit with other churches. and their church service is simply the best i have ever been too.
my only probably was that i couldn't find the book credible in the slightest.
Maybe it would help focus you if you read up on the history of Mormonism and its differences from Christianity -- somebody suggested an ex-Mormon website. That's a place to start I'd say.
i could suggest a "recovering christian" website or two for you, faith.

Non seq, AP, since unlike the convener of this symposium here, I DON'T "have doubt in my religion."
yes. but.
my point is that i know you often feel like people here are attacking your religion, and trying to convince someone away from theirs is a bit of a double standard.
especially since the op's doubt was in the CHURCH and the organized religion, not his faith.

ugh.
well this thread has gone to hell in a handbasket. i guess the moral of the story is to never bump an old thread to encourage somebody.
people, i don't think we should be trashing each other's faiths here. just cut it out, all of you.
