For the record, I still haven't made up my mind on this issue. However, I have heard many arguments from both sides.
What you guys have failed to consider is that legalizing drugs will at least allow the government to regulate them much like alcohol. Sure, alcohol kills people and ruin lives, but at least the effects are miniscule compared to the era of prohibition. But you are right for once JN  that certain arguments are perfect on paper, much like communism, until you put it to practice.
