This is truly Americana at its finest.
If he wins, he will be a great source of material for comedians.
And I'm not joking, I really would LOVE to see this dude at least run for president.
Basil Marceaux and Sarah Palin as a presidential ticket. That would be a hoot.

I really don't think the rest of the world would notice the difference. Basil is exactly how many of us see the U.S. all the time. Basil is exactly how many of us see the U.S. all the time. I'll accept the insults from our UK posters but NEVER from a Canadian!

One of my favorite political comic strips was from I think about 1981 after Canada helped rescue some American hostages from Iran. It had a Canadian hockey player sitting at the bar with Uncle Sam saying he needed to buy him a drink, with a slapshoted Ayatollah Khomeini at the other end of bar in a pile of stools, chairs and over turned tables. I for one am a fan of Canadians, having been reared in upstate NY and Michigan.

Right off the bat, the Bush Jr. comparisons would be hilarious.

I swear to you, if this guy runs for president I will vote for him. If he and Palin are on the same ticket, I will quit my job and volunteer for their campaign.

Ah Facebook... because everyone thinks they're awesome.
Or, at least, that their farm is. STFU Believers-Site dedicated to posting comments made from Believers that either don't fit the current topic at all, or are just generally stupid STFU Atheists-Site dedicated to posting comments made from Atheists that either don't fit the current topic at all, or are just generally stupid (On a personal note, I wish Facebook would get punched in the face with bees... or something)

Well, I hate to disappoint everyone, but ole Basil finished dead last in the Repugnantcan primary, garnering less than 0.5% of the vote.
Ridicule is the only weapon which can be used against unintelligible propositions. Ideas must be distinct before reason can act upon them; and no man ever had a distinct idea of the trinity. It is the mere Abracadabra of the mountebanks calling themselves the priests of Jesus. -- Thomas Jefferson For we know that our patchwork heritage is a strength, not a weakness. We are a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus -- and non-believers. -- Barack Obama We see monsters where science shows us windmills. -- Phat It has always struck me as odd that fundies devote so much time and effort into trying to find a naturalistic explanation for their mythical flood, while looking for magical explanations for things that actually happened. -- Dr. Adequate

... but ole Basil finished dead last ...
Thinking on the positive side, that leaves him available for the VP slot on the Palin ticket in 2012.
