quote:
And some priest said, "Thou shalt rub thyself with thine own kind only for to rub thyself with a kind other than thine own is displeasing to the Lord. Further, if thou art male thou shalt rub thyself with only the female of thine own kind and not the male of thine own nor any other kind. And if thou art female thou shalt rub thyself with only the male of thine own kind and not the female of thine own nor any other kind. Except on such occasion as it shall please the male of our own kind that two females of our own kind shall rub themselves together in the sight of the male of our own kind or in the sight of several males of our own kind for such rubbing is filled with heat and is pleasing to the Lord but the rubbing of two males together is filled with icky and is not pleasing to the Lord."
-some priest
From this most scholars conclude that the rubbing of metal with plastic is not allowed though some scholars argue that since the plastic kind did not exist at the time of this writing that rubbing metal and plastic together is not specifically prohibited.
The other thing is that there is not any specified penalty for the violation of this prohibition within the passage which leads some scholars to contemplate whether some priest is ambivalent to these restrictions but would prefer they not be done.
