Watch what they choose to cover and what they don't. The Chinese government is harvesting peoples organs, but no, they feel compelled to lower morale by informing us when US soldiers die or when an Iraqi civilian got caught in the crossfire. I think harvesting organs is pretty big news, don't you? And yet, not a word of it.
Not that I can add much to this thread, as a European 'communist' ;-) who doesn't watch any US news. But this particular example caught my attention.
It happens that the Belgian public channel VRT has a daily news that is most probably beyond your observable political spectrum (lol). Even I get riled up a bit by how they lean a bit TOO obviously towards the left sometimes. (although it is the increasing interest in faits divers like murders and such, that even affects OUR news, that gets to me more)
But anyway: guess which topic they covered last week?
Yep
I actually remembered it because my reaction at the time was that it sounded not terribly believable. It seemed to deserve its place solely because of the spectacle value... They really didn't go deep into it, as if there simply wasn't enough substantial evidence.
