quote:
My real intent is to know how people know they know Jesus.
Which is what I felt your OP was addressing, but your responses have been rude. Since faith is something very personal, you need to be respectful to those who are trying to answer your questions.
This is a debate forum, not a place for a personal crusade. A topic is promoted and the participants discuss that topic and try not to deviate.
quote:
Everyone knows my position now. No one in the future can ever again imply I attempted to mislead them
It's not your personal position I'm talking about, but what the opening post presented for discussion. If you're asking questions about Jesus, then stick to discussing Jesus. Don't drag participants all over the place or blast them because you didn't get the answer you're looking for.
quote:
Before I can be saved I must know how others know and understand there religion is correct.
But your responses sound like your mind is made up, which is fine if it is; but then you aren't really open to understanding the believers position. That is contrary to what you present in the OP and in this explanation.
You say you really want to know, but also say you want to wipe out Christianity.
You say the believer refuses to admit that they could be incorrect, but you want to know how they are so sure of their belief.
If you keep offering candy and then smack'em up side the head with a 2x4, they aren't going to talk with you.
If you want to learn how to play the piano, you listen to the teacher.
If you want to understand how a believer knows Jesus, then listen to the believer and ask respectful questions. You'll notice not all believers have the same answer.
I won't suspend you for 24 hours for responding in the thread, since you also posted it here and I will leave the thread open.
Keep to the topic of knowing Jesus.
Practice quoting and responding correctly.
Mind your typos. People can't answer if you don't communicate well.
Please maintain respect and use a little decorum.
